is there a manifold that will accomodate the A/C compressor as well

ie have enuff room in the engine bay for the A/C turbo together??

i've seen some but they werent A/C friendly

AVO manifold is A/C friendly. I hav my A/C in at the moment and works wonders

take a/c off, MORE POWER!!!

u sure it makes more power.
i done that to a car ages ago and made jack all difference.

your last car wasnt a honda then, anything you take off from a honda that you think is not usefull means you make more power/expecting more power or trying to make it go faster by taking off parts(weight reduction)

oh and you got less things to share the power with in the engine bay so might aswell take your power steering off to which means you get even more power

ok.
i was a EXA. pain in the arse to take of too.
how much does a A/C system weight in a civic/integra

serious
10kg
wont make that much of a difference would it

look at rev hard, greddy, hks, apexi or any of the custom manifolds on honda-tech. kfab, spoolin performance, lovefab etc etc...

all custom manifolds will list weather they are AC/PS friendly.

isnt it the dump pipe that affects the a.c?

poid
12-10-2005, 10:26 PM
the manifold dictates the position of the turbo in the engine bay, some simply dont allow enough roo9m for a dump pipe unless the a/c is removed.

There are heaps that do though, as Weq pointed out

Full Race = hmm good shit ;) thats all i use on my and client cars Geoff is one of the best designers for manifolds iv eva seen iv known Geoff for around 6 years now and he made my 1st log style manifold for me back when he was working for Max Rev.

PS piss off the AC u don’t need it ;-)

I think you will find there are MUCH better designers out there, and with a lot more experience in the racing field.
To my knowledge, NONE of Geoff's streetmanifolds give priority to the wastegate.

Try Hytech USA for a truely superior design

You call bleeding boost from all 4 cylinders pipes at the collector its self not priority.. I call fully disagree with that! That is the best place to regulate boost from a joint collector.

I call that ineffective Jamey Boy you little tacker. God bless you for trying :)

Why cause unneccessary turbulence to a turbo before the system is in equilibrium?
The manifold you have is a perfect example of what NOT to use. So is mine for that matter. They are cost effective and by NO means "Optimal"
Priority to the wastegate will improve spool time and boost delivery.

Take a look at the Turbo F1 era and look closely to the designs they use.
Im sure those F1 "Engineers" knew what they were designing, and it translated to 1000+whp at 2bar boost (around 30psi) from a Honda motor well under the 1600/1800cc's of today.... and all this over 20ys ago.

It might help you if you read some SAE papers on manifold design, and intake/exhaust pressure drop/variance/difference.

i love these arguments... lol

There is a difference between arguing and debating...
For those who dont know the difference...

Debate: A discussion involving opposing points
Argue: To engage in a quarrel; dispute.

James and I "debate" all day long....mainly because he is always wrong, lol

Are accords in the same boat as the civics with air con space? Or can they keep the air con no matter what the manifold?

poid

still need a correctly made manifold on an accord

it was tight... but i kept all a/c components in my engine bay! dont buy kits.. go cutstom!
