Just curious, what's the highest you guys have done in your Jazz?
Max I've done is about 5.5k in first gear  hope that doesn't damage my engine
I accidently did like 6k doing a wheel spin when it was absolutely chucking it down with rain.
ROFL.........
rev limiter my friend.

try mis-shifting while down shifting ( into say 2nd instead of 4th) and you can do maybe 15,000 RPM . Yes in a JAZZ.
The engine will explode but wow it will be a record

probably about 7500 or 8000 at most i shifted a little too early from 3rd to 2nd whilst braking down the straight at wakefield.

Yeah you are right it is limited to 6500 when ACCELERATING - i know that one;)
this is when i was going down a gear. You can try it if you want. 2nd gear maxes at about 97/98km/h at the rev cut. I down shifted at about 110km/h give or take a few. The engine reved its guts out and the tacho needle went way past 6500rpm! Ive got it on video doing it :o you can hear the engine go mental for a second and then sound normal again once it got past 6500rpm slowing down. I havent watched the video in a while and cant remeber if you can see the needle (dont know if its in the shadow or not), but you can definitely hear it.

well i went to the track in the beginning of july and have been waiting for my brother to put it on the computer because i have no idea. Thats yet to happen
Then i put it on a mates computer but he doesnt have access to the net with that computer or a cd burner so hence why i have posted it 3 months ago.

Umm yeah....that's what rev-limiters are used for - I've hit it plenty of times.
Haven't done Pete's trick but I know of plenty that have and watched their engine go up in a puff of smoke

Whats so good about a high rpm (besides the engine making lots of noise)?... it doesnt go faster...
I go upto 5/6 on 2nd every now n then so my engine doesnt collect yukky stuff.. :)

max rev on my jazz is 6500rpm, fully standard
anyone tried to get to speed cut? i tried, and it's at 172kph +/-, and it stays at just under 5000rpm

the 7 speed in the VTi is a crock! it still changes for u...........there is no need for it at all

there is no speed cut...... i've done 185km/h...... jazz is capable of doing 190....

Unofficial, very reliable source claims just under 205km/h :) Without mods pretty hard apparently getting past the 190-195km/h mark

hahaha, pete you shifted to 2nd at 120km/h at one stage! it did not sound healthy at all....you definately crack 8000rpm one more than one occasion :P
i really should burn the video's to a CD so they can be put up on the net, i've really been a little lazy as of late. maybe if i get some free time i'll watch the footage again see if i can pin-point the time(s) you shifted down a little too early :)
I don't think Honda engines mind being rev'd out a little (under-statement of the year!) my dads taken his prelude to around 8500-9000 once when he was pissed off. Hell even my bimmer with 210k's on the clock went over 7500 (tacho stops there) *oops*

What type of prelude is that? VTiR H22a powered lude's have a 8000 rpm limiter (it may even be 7800 rpm?)... No way would it go that high.

it's not whether my engine is gonna blow, more like if I'm gonna damage it or lessen the life.
My engine has started to tick....if you know what I mean, and I don't think I'll be ragging it about. I've only done 6600miles on it.

it's a '99 ATTS, it's got the H22Z1 in it. I know it's definately been taken out to 8000 a few times, and 8500 once. Didn't sound very nice up that high but did go up there
