Why am i still a newcomer?

Just wondering why im still called a newcomer? I searched and found a thread about people participating by getting their post count up, but then i saw some guy who's a member with less posts than me.
I've been here a while too, what's going on?

You will be given a Member status when you have made a good enough contribution to the website, not just posting for your count with irrelivant crap. Whats it matter anyway, not trying to sell anything quickly?
