Just Get yourself an aftermatket (brand name) panel filter....... POD's are hardly worth the trouble with a stock car, and theres more involved than simply replacing a stock filter with a POD.

If you need more info regarding PODS, check out the Technical section :)

Yup, just get a replacement flat panel filter by K&N or one of the other major brands.

After that take out your resonator and run some piping from the bottom of the airbox to behind the front bar. I wrote more on this awhile back I think, so maybe do a quick search :)

without a resonator your car loses power
depending on size.. a fair few kilowats at the treads..

I have a Jamex HiFlow Foam Panel Filter if you want it...

Made by PiperCross in England - do some research, it is the best

panel like everyone has said, unless you want to invest in a bit more and get a proper cai + pod

do they panel ones like say Spoon or Trust improve the car's performance or driveability at all (on a stock civic I mean)

or is it just bling bling ... ;)

Its not really bling-bling....the stock paper filters are quite restrictive.....a very small gain can be had by changing over to a performance panel filter..

k&n are also very good. $100 would get you onelanded.
For any performance increase froma stocky filter, u will need to remove the resonators in the intake atleast. THen u will notice some better throttle response and bit more power up high.

if u intend to mod ur car further, just go with a heatshield & pod
may suffer a little bit around town on really hot days but for those important trackdays, etc, your car will breathe a lot better at the top end. I reckon the APEXi Pod Filter is really good. Don't need to muck *typo* around with cleaning with oil for the K&N's, etc. My 2c =)

Does that come with an intake as well, or is it just an airbox??

I think it's just the box... and you use the original factory pipe (basically just replacing the square box with the fancy CF one ...
