coz they usually leak and then rust up or break.
Just buy a car with it from the factory. Its not really worth it, my cars got it, i use it, though i could live without it

Yep, as said, after market sun roofs have bad reputation. IMO it is a bit too risky putting one in. Id just buy a car that has one from the factory.

Whys that?

since there's a hole in the roof, u reduce rigidity and strength of the chasis.

chassis rigidity reduciton from a sunroof would be negligible (for a predominant street car) and in any case it would be nothing a c pillar bar wouldn't fix.

If you go to a reputable after market installer like hollandia ( i think thats their name) they will have a warranty and they do a good job too as some car companies contract the sunroofs to companies like this. I've seen an article in a mag where they install a sunroof and they don't damage the car at all, and they where cutting the hole out of a car with a custom big dollar paint job. They also put braces for the roof in too, so its not going to weaken your car otherwise they wouldn't be ADR approved.

i completely agree with showpony. Hollandia sunrooves are an actual brand and are used in predominantly german cars from factory as well. most installers offer a 3 year warranty on parts and labour and they extensively ensure that there is no water leak. you can be assured if you go to a good place. i'm in melb so i cant recommend. i got quoted $2k for a top of the range 3 tilt unit.

Yep, definitely shoulda got VTi. :p
If you put a sunroof in you lose the advantage of the Si, 'cos most of the difference comes from the weight of the sunroof and motor apparently. But hey, I love my sunroof... I use it basically every day. And great for getting extra light in at night.

And to further add to this, since summer is coming up, its even better as well. You wont regret it!
