i went down to a local exhaust place to ask about adding another 6" (4"tip) cannon on the other side of the car.

they said it would be a fairly easy job, and would only cost $300 including the piping, install ect.

however, they said it would take away from back pressure, decreasing power.

----------
any idea on how much power i would loose adding this extra exhaust, and how loud will it be.
----------

At the moment ive got 4-2-1 extractors to a 2 1/4" pipe, high flow cat and a 6" 4" Zetti cannon, 1996 DC4 AUTOMATIC.

thanks for your input.

Well for starters it sounds like your car is damn loud at the moment, but i would not get another cannon.. its pointless! you will decrease your cars power for one as the engine isnt all that powerful anyway. Also i think it may whistle a little bit where the exhaust gasses split to go to each muffler Its a huge wank to be honest, if you have a v8 then yes go dual but dont do it on a 4cyl. Save that 300 dollars and work on your suspension or sumthing that is worthwhile doing.

haha i want to do dual exhaust on my car too, i have pics of 1990 integra's with dual cannons out the back and it looks phat as :D But maybe not really the best idea performance wise unless of course your running small pipe and have a vtec.. :p

but see thats the thing, its quiet. adding another cannon would give me the sound id like.

as for power, can anyone give me a rough HP figure of what id be loosing?

I'd say roughly u'd lose a bit of torque down low but it's possible it might help when reving really high... there's so many varying factors to take into account.. like i have a friend with a xr6 (i know totally different car) but he has a 3" exhaust on his which is supposed to be way to big and it feels a little lazier down low rpms but when he starts reving it, it feels alot stronger up top and doesn't slow down untill redline, where as before it was useless reving it that high.. but again that's an xr6 not an integra 4 cylinder..

Remember this is just my thoughts on the matter, i could be completely wrong..

Also how to i post up pics? I tried uploading attachment but it says i have exceeded my quota?

lose power, what are you talking about, with twin exhausts ur gonna gain so much power man, its just gonna rock everything.

And the added bling will bring in the extra teenie boppers for you, rice on ricer :)

nah d00d, with non turbo cars, power through the exhaust rely's on back pressure.

think of a garden hose, if it was a massive hose, the water would trickle out, but if it was too small, the water could not leave fast enough.

its about finding the right balance with a NA car.

i just want to find out if its going to loose too much power.

personally wouldn't do this on an na car but if you must, why do you think it will be louder? you're pushing the same amount of air through 2 mufflers wouldn't this make it quieter?...

na twin exhausts are crap... but rice is good to an extent apart from stickers.. whats so good about jdm.. keeping ur car as close to stock as possible but still look a lil bit modded.. that defeats the purpose of modding cars.. booooooooooooooooooo

if you like it then do it, dont worry about pwer loss, it will be hardly noticable, if u want power then save up and turbo, or vtec. but twin exhaust is unique for tegs...

The dual cannons on the LS looks awesome! But i don't know about putting them on a GSi. I agree with it decreasing the power and sound. I think you should just stick with the one cannon. You don't want your integra looking like this civic:

This guy looks like he's proud about his crimes to all honda owners!

you want more sound, get rid of the resi.

You want to park your car with the 'altezza' lancers in the back corner of autosalon, go the twin.

Sounds harsh, I know, however lack of back pressure over an extended period of time is bad for your engine.

adding another cannon won't make your car any louder, will only effect the note.

That being said, i'm all for doing something different, if it makes you smile, then do it. Dont worry about other peoples opinion.
