Hey all, as some of you may know my car got pelted by hail and has got 140 something little dents all over it so the opportunity has arrived for a whole new look for my accord :-)

Its gonna be at the smash repairer for over a month getting straightened, the aerial and side rubbing strips shaved, full bodykit fitted and a full respray in a colour so loud and bright you wont miss it!

I'll keep you updated...

How much do you think that will all come too?
Or will insurance cover it?

Insurance aint gonna cover it all but im getting a good cheque from them to go towards it. I guess its going to cost what ever it costs, theres an old saying " you get what you pay for" Im fortunate that the panel shop doing it is a good customer of mine ( we detail a lot of cars for them) and they arent going to rip me off.

heres a teaser of the colour im thinking of.

mmm that would certainly be a unique colour, it looks good on the new falcons, would be interesting to see your 5th gen that colour!!!

May I ask what bodykit you are getting, and roughly how much teh respray is going to set you back.

From what I have quoted a good quality custom respray with kit is 10k, using top quality paint like house of kolor o, PPG or spies n hecker etc

Bodykit's a secret! it's not costing 10k! its a matter of who you know ;) All will be revealed later!

That colour will make your Accord highly visible and safe in the night.

I assume the dents from hail storm are too big to be fixed by the suction method.. so they have to penal them out?

I basically want a colour thats easy to look after and looks good even when dirty- hence why its going yellow. It might not be the exact yellow of the ford pic i posted but either way it will be yellow.

Not sure if its going to be a lemon yellow like the rx-8's or a pearly yellow like the lamborghini gallardo. Also thinking of PPG chrome yellow with a candy in it.

I like white cars but i would never paint a car white as when u have a choice of any colour in the world white isnt at the top of my list.

Black looks good but is a PITA to look after.

I dont want to paint it a 'fad' colour as 3 years after it will look so dated which is why i wont paint it pink haha. I figure yellow is fairly timeless.....maybe i should just paint it Integra type r yellow!

Not respraying the engine bay until i have to pull the engine out again- me and my mate are going to strip the whole interior as much of the exterior of parts except for the dash and steering wheel to save me some $$$ in labour- will give me a chance to give the interior a good detail- its overdue lol.

Hehe, it sounds like a mission! All the best! Actually, a black engine bay is easier to keep clean. Unless it is a showcar, maybe the black engine bay is better.
