Hi fellow Euro owners/drivers,

have anyone experienced installing a rear strut brace for the Euro? I actually have a Cusco one on order and want to see if there are any difficulties installing it.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Part number for the Cusco Brace, and where did you order it?

Yeah that's a DIY I wrote, but it's for the front strut tower bar and lower arm bar.

If in fact it is a rear strut tower bar as accordoholic mentioned it would require the removal of the rear seat bottom, side bolsters, and folding the seat backs down. Would then have to remove the rear plastic trim on the parcel shelf to access the two rear strut bolts to install the bar. - That's provided one exists. I know a while ago one of the traders posted one as being available but as I hadn't been able to find any other evidence to suggest it's exists I didn't pursue it. I also had a quick look for the original post and I think it must've been edited.

Is a rear strut brace really necessary in a sedan???

Shouldn't the parcel shelf be enough??

Can you post up a link to what you have ordered - I have a feeling it is a Cusco lower arm brace not a rear strut brace. If it is a rear strut brace - as others have said you will need to make a mess of that boot to get to the rear towers.

Hi all,

sorry for the late reply, been really busy with work and had not a had a chance to sit down and check the thread out.

I have not got a part no. for it yet but I should be able to get soon and when my parts arrive. Will get some pics once I see them.

A strut brace and a parcel shelf are 2 different things, and they are for 2 different purposes.

Yfin, thanks for your concern but I have confirmed it to be a rear strut brace as I was told it is to be installed on top of the struts and not under the car.

In regards to the boot, I have thought heaps about it before ordering it and decided to get it at the end coz it shouldn't take up too much of boot space.

I've ordered the parts through a friend of mine and will be shipped together with his parts arriving early December.

This will be the first mod to my car (as I don't treat bodykits as a mod) and I want to take it step by step to do it properly. I've had bad experiences with cheap parts like K-*** and not doing things in a more logical order ( I won't say I'm doing it in the "right" order now as I really don't know what it is right or not ).

Hope things work out better for this car.

well, i guess that very much depends on the car itself.. i've no experience with a rear strut brace on the euro .. yet.. but my experience with the 02 civic sedan is that it does make a difference, even on straight roads..
you know how the rear of the current civic keeps bobbing up and down on uneven roads, adding a rear strut brace tamed the rear, and the difference is immediately noticeable..

We'll all be looking forward to the rear strut bar :)
