I have a d15b vtec engine which i believe to be a 55mm TB and I was thinking of replacing this with an LS TB which is bigger, i can remember by how much...
there are mixed opinions regarding this on d-series.org
i was wondering what ppl's opinions here are
would there be any gains? without port matching it?

Remember its the flush side to the inlet-manifold, which is the "measurement" - if the throttle body suface is actually larger than the inlet of the inlet mani then that will restrict flow in -

If you just bolt on a larger T/B and do not tune it to your engine you will only gain a very small amout of its true potential, and this is why people normally say that it does not give much of a gain.

ok so there will be small gains...
and i wont experience larger gains until a tune
i guess thats fine with me
as long as i dont go backwards with a bigger TB
