I was wondering, before doing cams in a B16A, do other things need doing? Like ported heads, intake manifold etc?

The car already has extractors, cat, exhaust, pod filter, CAI etc, and just wondering if putting cams in (Toda B, or Skunk 2) would make a good increase? Without expensive things like porting heads and so on

toda or skunk would require springs and retainers to be upgraded. Do the head work when you put the cams in. Some cams need aftermarket ecu. Intake manifold would help things along too, but would be on the bottom of my list.

thats my 2c

yeah, you will be wanting to retune your ecu some how to get the most from your cams

Sorry I didn't mention the ECU but a greddy e-manage would be used.

I was just wondering, if on a B16A, with extractors, exhaust, pod filter, CAI and the emanage, would putting cams (and springs etc) give good results? Or would it be better to have some other work done before them? Like head porting and so on?
