hood cable no open

have any of you guys had the hood cable latch disconnect and you can't open the hood? wtf do you do to open the hood? i can't seem to find how i can open it.

its happened to me b4 years ago..
- cant rem if i had to get my arm up inside the front airdam to undo the latch bracket.
or
- i think i had to get needle nose pliers and pull the cable..

or i did both..

the cable itself hasn't snapped. it's only disconnected from the hood latch mechanism so pulling on the cable won't do sh1t. :(

i have a reinforcment bar behind the front bar so i can't get my arm up between the front bar and radiator either. :(

i'm screwed.

I watched it on some TV show, you can manually open it somewhere under the car. Forgot what show it was though.

Use a jimmy bar to lever up your bonnet ;)
But seriously, you should be able to move / see your bonnet latch if you remove your bumper.

now i rem i had my reinforcement bar removed..

so the "T" joint on the end of the cable has falled off the latch right?

I can't at least open it with my key...

dropped the car off to the panel beater and he did it for me. i dunno how though coz i was at work. he said something about undoing the front bar from the sides and pulling it forward from underneath so he could reach the latch. still dunno how he'd be able to undo the latch though unless he undid the bolts holding the latch on.

Unbolt the bumper supports where they attach to the chassis rails, pull bumper bar forward, stretch hand up inside and bobs ya mothers brother... move the lever and your in.

Sounds like that is how the panel beater got into it as well
