How tough/durable are they?

Mines 200,000kms old. I dont flog the bollocky out of it (the car was bought for cruising after all).

Just wondering if there are any nasty repair bills I should prepare for... :|

Yep

Especially if you turbo it

Well, mine started to **** up abit when it was changing between first to second ... A problem that I made worse by turbo'ing it :P

That's why I'm swappin it over to manual!

Apparently, the manual boxes are good for about 350hp so they're pretty strong!

Arent all Honda 5spds ? A friend owns a Civic Gli hatch and belts the living piss out of it on a regular basis. Fried the pistons before the gearbox showed any signs of wear.

And yeah mine can be a little hesitant to shift up, usually happens from a standing start and gets to 70km/h where it'll slur for a bit, then shifts.

Car wont be growing snails anytime soon (love the sound of VTEC too much heh 8) ) so Im banking on the tranny living on a fair while longer.
