hey guy
had my type R linkage installed a while ago
everything regardign shifting is fine no problems at all

however, what i am finding is
the shifting area heats warm-hot really easily

does anyone who have the type R linkage had such issues?
it was very rarely that the shifter would heat up like this when it was stock

i was thinking, mayb its coz of the material?

I have two posibilities in mind

1 the rubber boot wasnt put back in place and allowing heat to enter the cabin
2 the shifter is longer and sits closer to the exhaust, transfering heat to your quicker and more.

gelo...does it get hot if the car is idling?

or only when driving/fanging?

it's that rubber seal under your shift boot that's causing heat.

gelo, how does it feel compared to the standard EK4 one ?
i.e. gear changing and throw.
Ive been keen to do the conversion but am researching it more.

ive read from people who say its exactly the same only a shofter shift.. quoted "It only feels more precise cause there is short shifter all other factors are the same"..

Im contemplating the same question...

actually i took it apart
and guess what

the rubber seal wasnt there
oops
:o

in regards of the shifter
the throw is shorter as you would expect
and the feelign is very precise
it slots in very firmly when u change the gears
personally, i feel like i can downshift quicker and smoother with the tyep R shifter (using heel and toe)

yeah Adam did you ever drive Marz's DC2-R or another DC2-R ? it's exactly the same as the type R shift if u use the linkages and shifter..

Bede I have driven many ITR's and S2000
I wanted to know what the EK9 in EK4 shifter was like.
