hey guys, i'm about to put 16s with 55 treads, and i'm worried that when i full lock turns the tyres will rub the guards.

i had this problem in my MR2 and don't want the same problem in my EF civic.

anyone have this problem?

Shouldn't be any problems with 16's...

Can you get 50's?

its a mixture of offset , ride height and rim dimensions that contribute to rubbing etc.

i have only 15x7's on my honda civic , not that low , BUT due to offset i get bad rubbing in the rear and also front when turing

i think if you get 16" wheels your tires should be 205.45.16
if you get tires with a profile of 55 they may be too big and might rub the guard.
offset of your wheel should be >+40

I have an ED Civic with 17" x 7" rims and 205/40 series rubber, does not scrub the guards at all even with a +45 offset.
Does rub the inner guard liners at full lock but I removed them.
16" rims in a 45 or 50 profile should be fine for your ride. 195/50R16 or 205/45R16 is made by many reputable tyre brands

55 on 16's is too big for a EF IMO.
i reckon it will scrub over bumps and when turning.
def try to get 50's or 45's. do you know what offset your rims are?

is your car lowered at all? i have 55 on 1 pair of the rims, should i wack those on the rear and get a lower profile for the fronts?

no idea what the offset is..

it doesnt fk up ur paint if u do it the old fashioned way and just go ape at it with a rubber mallet

it does fk up ur paint when u use one of those hub machines...

if i was "aping" it with a rubber mallet i'd be worried about more than just the paint :o

If the 55 profiles fit on the rear without scrubbing, go for it.

The ED is lowered 40mm and has plenty of room for 205/45R17 tyres

I know Hankook K104 Sports are cheap & grippy in 16".
