AFAIK there is no such thing as a "spoon chipped" ECU...only stand-alone units for B series motors etc.

Id be looking at some piggy back management since you are running stock cam and head etc too ?

That is NOT a "Spoon" chipped ECU/chip. IT is some aftermarket chip with a fake spoon sticker on it. No doubt , IMO it is some cheap chip which requires soldering to an existing ECU - and modifies / screws fuel maps and ignition iming etc. Please dont get it !

Didn't realise the ones on ebay were all fake.

Ok well should I get a chipped ecu or VAFC.

There are other solutions around for your ECU it can be setup to run Hondata S100,Please PM a Hondata dealer for details and prices.

Yeah hondata may be out of my price range at the moment.

I spoke to a guy who chips ecu's and he said that he can provide me with some preprogrammed chips, and then alter my ecu so that i can swap chips easily

i'm assuming this is a genuine chip?

the guy claims it is genuine...how can i verify this?

you cant verify, unless you do your own reverse engineering of a genuine spoon ecu.

Yes, mine are genuine.

- but we cant verify that either can we?

not having a go at you

just want to know what the difference between a spoon ecu and other aftermartket ecu's would be like?

no, you cant verify it, but they are probably genuine copies of the program.

as far as i know, it is easy to program chips with genuine programs, all you need is the source code, then use a chip burner to make lots of 'genuine' copies...

micheal - you asked me about chipping, but ProECU is the man to talk to ;)

Correct.

As I said before, you can't easily verify its authenticity, unless you can reverse engineer a genuine item.

i dont know a lot about chipping/ecu's

but couldn't u just compare the fuel maps, ignition timing that set on the spoon chip?
