I finally got conned into running my Euro down caulder park last friday too see how it went!

I know the euro isn't really a straight line performer but i was just interested too see how she went.

I Ran it with the heavy chrome 19 inch wheels, full tank of fuel & spare tire (full street trim). I wanted too see how it performed & running it down the track as i drive it on the street (There was also another accord euro there too!)

I arrived late so i could only fit in one run & i pulled out a 15.5 @ 91mph. which i was pretty impressed with! The other euro i saw which had a bodykit on it & 18 inch wheels ran a 16.3. All i could tell is that it was a manual with an exhaust.

The only modifications i've got in the removal of the front resonator & the oem mufflers have been removed & replaced with two little hot dog mufflers & a Pod filter on the oem intake pipe. And it's 6spd maunal ofcource.

Has anybody else here ran there Euro down the 1/4? I would be interested too see there results!

Thanks :)

For your car specs that is an excellent time  Heavy chrome wheels too!

Can you post up some more info about your car and the run? Is it the lux model, how many kms on the engine? Re the run - please state your rpm off the line and whether you changed gear at red line or near cut out.

One last question- what is your experience running 1/4 mile - experience makes a big difference in times.

2005 Accord Euro 6 Speed, Standard Model with Sunroof & Fog lights.
Engine has 15,000km's
Fuel i was running was BP Ultimate 98.
Motul 8100XS Fully synthetic 5-40w Oil
Exhaust is stock just with different mufflers & removed mufflers & a BMC Pod filter is attached to the stock oem intake pipe
Hah, nah, i don't have subwoofers or anything like that in the boot! :)

Was good too get spotted from a Perth owner :) I live in Williamstown so i'm always around there.

I have not got a slip as i bloody lost it!! But i have it on my friends camera. Will try n get it into a mpeg or something.

I have had a bit of racing experience, as i had my WRX before and i used to run it many of times down Caulder.

From the day i picked the car up from Honda i drove it hard (The only way to run a car in) just took it really easy on the driveline. Everytime i hop into her she goes better & better.

I was actually very supprised with the run, i thought i was going to hit a mid 16 but when i saw the clock i couldn't belive it! I was very proud of my car.

I Spun the front tires on the VHT just a little bit before running it just so i could get some traction.

On the line i just gave it some revs not passing 4,500 of cource and slipped it and dumped it. Got a little bit of wheel spin & wheel hop but it got off the line very well. Ran it all the way to the red line not hitting limiter once (starting to know the car pretty well now) so i can get into vtec quicker on gear changes.

But all the weight i was carrying i just really couldn't belive it. I'm going back too the track after my 20,000km service with my 16ns on running 30 at the front & 36 at the rear, No fuel & no spare tire. I'm hoping to get her down too a high 14! If i can. :D

breaking into the 14 sec barrier would be a god send..meaning that you would be type R 1/4 mile times..that would be interesting..maybe race a type R and see how she goes hehe

Havn't raced a type R before. I think the Type R would get the euro anyday really.

In standard road going spec yes. As a race car no :)

Well done :)

I ran 15.5 too but I launched at idle.. What RPM did you launch the car at?

P.S I'm moving this to the Track/Drag racing section :)

Nick - dropping the car even just 1" with stiffer springs makes a HUGE difference to that wheel hop - 3000rpm is no problem now at all even with regular 32psi tyre pressure.

I think fitting stiffer suspension and lowering the Euro is a must for anyone chasing 1/4 mile times.

I'm pretty sure i slipped & dumped around 3,000rpm. i Really don't work on engine speeds, i work on the feel of the car.

Whats been done too your euro? 15.5 for idle is pretty good!

Nice one! good job. I only managed to get 16.1 as my best 1/4 mile time. but that's with my heavy doof doof in the boot, so hopefully without it should be better :D

91 mph.

16.1 is still very quick!

For this size car getting into the low 16's to 15 & even high 14ns is very good for a 2.4l n/a. I would love too see a what a run with hondata on a euro would be like!

there was a thread on this not long ago and it did a very easy 14.7 quarter and 0-100 6.3 sec

when i initially purchased my euro i was content with it being a mid 16 sec car like the mazda 6 but when i actually drove it i knew straight away that this was not the case.
feels heaps quicker than a mazda 6 and after some research found that this is a car that if driven right can pull a low 15 sec quarter in stock form......quickest i have seen is 15.23.

Was it that TSX from the states? I remember the vid of it hitting high 14s with 0-60mph of 6.x. Was quite heavily modded though with a high-flow cat and all the goods (I think I remember a lightened flywheel?)
