I hope someone can help me out..Ive got a 93 VTi automatic and my ecu has just blown..I cant seem to find a secondhand auto one and a new ones gonna cost 3 g's..I can get my hands on a 2ndhandmanual ecu..I want to know if the the transmission is controlled electronically or is it mechanically controlled..And, if its mechanically controlled, should i be able to use the manual ecu??Also, does anyone know of any aftermarket ecu's for auto gearboxes? Thanks

Don't take this as gospel, BUT, i think the only difference is the auto/manual part of the ECU has a certain chip... But you'll need an expert to tell you which and why, but you might be able to use it...

Charlie at Good Performance and his mate Andrew are ECU experts. They are in Sydney, but only a phone call away if you are not in Sydney
