Ive recently decided to upgrade my Front speakers.
When i opened the cover to get to the speakers i noticed that my speakers were wet..... My face was like O________________O WTH!
Water has got in!
Is this normal? I asked my friends but they said to get the door re sealed b4 putting the new speakers in.. I'm thinking the water wont matter.. willl it?
Has this happened to anyone?
If so what did you guyz do to fix the problem? and how much would a fix cost?
If this is normal, what do you guyz think about putting the new speakers in. Will it be alright?
Thanks!

i have noticed some water gettin into the front door speaker area in my EG aswel..
the screws to hold on the speakers were gettin a lil rustyy... n i saw a small slit(hole) at the bottom of the door.. Not sure if this is normal tho..
but definately not a good thing to get water on ur speakers

did anyone stop and think that water DOES get into the door when it rains or you wash your car???
this has been a normal thing since cars with windows were invented hense why the doors have drain plugs to let the water out UNLESS they're blocked with dirt or other foreign materials?
so i dont know why there are so many people replying the same thing and being astounded that water gets in hahahahahahahahaha
also you ever realise why manufacturers make speakers from polypropolyne these days? i wont tell anyone, but i bet you can guess hahahahahaha

the onli place i can think of water gettin in from is from ur window seals, maybe u should change them if they're rotting and letting water in.

crossovers should never been installed in the door 'unless' they are on your side of the plastic which keeps the water in the door rather than in the car (through the door trim).
you say you got a civic right? dont they already have a rain coat on them (part of the door trim) from factory? i'd also be checking to make sure your drain holes are open at the bottom of the door. if they are blocked then the water will build up inside the door and splash around while driving and get on the speaker, make sure the drain holes are clear or any dirt or debris...

water will get in thats a fact of life
to protect ur precious vibration devices you could grab some plastic ( not some easily melted plastic though) or fabricate a hard plastic cover and silocone that bitch up for the back of your speakers....this could affect the sound from the speakers though as it would act like a (box) ...[speakers sound best/ work most efficiently when in a certain sealed volume xx m^3;)
