change into a double din doesnt mean better sound quality, but i will say it gives u great appearance. If you really after better sound quality, there plenty of SQ HU around like Alpine, Pioneer, Eclipse or even Naka.

if you going to run an amp, a 2 way component is a must coz it will give you a better and warm front stage, but u need to audition them yourself and pick one for your liking.
3- Do i REALLY need a sub if i dont play looooud all the time. Or is a must, for better bass.
if you need Doof Doof~~ get a sub and a mono amp
Good luvk hunting

i think if you want SQ go the eclipse HU, they make a HUGE difference with stock speaker!! even better with aftermarket, this is speaking from experince...as yes i have tried sony, apline blah blah....and found out that eclipse leads be far!!!

1) double din means nothings in relation to quality of sound output, just larger... screen ( or two devices)
2) I f you still have the stock speakers and stock headunit i suggest you upgrade. mp3/cd players are cheap as nowadays and a decent set of 6inch speakers for the front. I suggest you look for a respectable brand ( aka DONT go to supercheap and find a palsonic or sonee brandname wanabes )
3) your answer will vary from person to person, some people love the sub for the DOOF DOOF in dance music, i personally think it adds a whole new dimension to any type of music ( dosent have to be blasting) but u can really tell once you have had one and then turn it off or something.
in the end it depends how much money u wanna spend. I have pioneer HU + pioneer fronts + JL sub + JL amp and am very happy, although i'll probly get some splits for the front and move the components to the back then amplify them.
yeh.. thanz for the informative advices...
now i know wot i have to do inorder to lift the sound quality a bit.
hahaha definitely wont go supercheap, esp those wanabes.. only had a look and laugh at it.. hehehe
so with the subs and the amp, wot brands do u guys recomment? regardless of prices and mainly focus on quality not loudness.
And er.. where is the best place to ~try OUT~ those systems? like really wana feel the difference between brands.. (in sydney)

i say JL W3 or W6 DVC + JL mono amp, the best place to buy JL will be JB Hifi i think, you always can get them lots cheaper than other stores.

1- I wish to change into a double din, would that be helps to produce a bit better sound quality?
As said previously, double din units are not better SQ units. They are mainly made for consumers who have factory built double din headunits in their car and this enables them to choose to swap it over directly for another double din without any hassles.
2- Hows the stock speakers of the DC5? i heard they r pioneers. Do i need to replace them?
The speakers that come stock in any Honda are dodgy paper cone 'pioneers'. They are factory speakers. The quality is useless. They're usually built to power 15watts. You will definitely need to replace them if you intend on buying an amplifier, even if you dont, I suggest you change them.
3- Do i REALLY need a sub if i dont play looooud all the time. Or is a must, for better bass.Depending on the type of music you like and how loud you listen to your music. Subwoofers are optional. If you're reallly into music and like to turn it up occassionally, invest in a sub and amplifier. You can definitely notice the difference between having a sub and not having one.
Good luck. :)
oh ok.. cool, thanz for the input.
cheers

regards to Q3.do you need a sub? a sub plays frequencies form generally 80hz below. im not an expert or anything but i dont know of any speakers that can really offer sub 80hz frequencies. this means if you dont have a sub you wont be listening to all the music. as for what sub it depends on what $$$ you want to spend and if you want spl or sq. SPL- DD, soundstream, ets. SQ-- image dynamics IDMAX, boston G5, Treo TSX?, RE audio, etc. hope this helped

I'd also agree with adam87. The Treo TSX series is quite impressive. A good value for money sub but the only thing, Treo isn't the easiest brand to find though. The JL Audio W1 and the W3v2 are also good subs that I can recommend.
