this is the ED version of Civic yeah? 87?

No - headlights are completely different between Gen1s and EDs. Search for a AF/AS 83-85 civic headlights... thats if they are recesed?

hehe - are you SURE about that? cos i believe it would have been thesame deal as with the CRXs... some came as early as 87 and were EDs.

j3z3z if the headlights look like the recessed ones then you should be fine. do they look like this?

You are wrong.
...it's *actually* 87-92.
I personally own 2 '87 ED's.

The light follows the yellow line on my old civic. It doesnt have that ege on it. But what is in the blue line is removed as he is doing a custom fibreglass job on it.
my 87 was the end of a model it was made in jan 87

well tecnically they are 87-91 but they are sold as 88 models....

my car is a sept 91 EG but it says 92-95....

so its 87(up to september) then 88(from sept)

do the lights look like the ones in the bottom pic ive shown? cos they would be ones off a civic from 84-87.

the lines on the pic you drew don't show exactly what they look like.

The lights in BOTH pics i posted - will fit the gen1 CRX. if your mate is making a custom header panel he can make it to suit.

also - I don't think any of the pre ED models had GL or GLi badges either... so that would prove its an ED.

AT 3gen Civics and 1gen CRXs (and their Aussie equivilent) ran from '84 to '87. EF/ED/EE 4th gen Civics an 2nd gen CRXs ran from '88 to '91 although there were a few EF/EE/EDs stamped late '87 as the 3gen supply dried up. HOWEVER, the OFFICIAL Honda data states the 4G as being '88-'91.

Re your AT 1gen Ballade - don't try the headlight swap without taking your headlight into a wrecker and physically checking as the 3gen Civic underwent a number of minor nose cone and headlight revisions.

Hope that helps.
