Hey guys
I'm going to paint my rocker cover this weekend on the EK, when I take the cover off, and I'm putting it back on, do I need gasket goo or something like that?
or does it just bolt back on?
cheers

It is advised that you do use a sealant to prevent oil leaks from the rocker cover. But then again i didnt use any gasket sealant and i havent had any problems. I would do it just to be safe tho

when i painted mine i replaced the rocker cover seal and also the spark plug seals as mine have never been replaced i guess its always a good idea :P to do
rocker cover seal was $39
Spark plug seals $ 10 each need 4
Also advised to replace the washer holding the cover but you need 8 and there $10 so i didnt change them hehe :P
just check out the quality of the seal if its worn replace
if not just put some gasket sealant or some kind of sealant around the seal to give it a nice fit on corners
Test the engine turn it over and check for any leaks :P
good luck

Article here (http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15443) that shows steps for taking off and putting on rocker cover. Article here (http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16974) on painting rocker cover. I did mine last week. My tips are: don't lose the washers/seals holding it down. ;) If you are using crinkle paint, and probably any other paints, make sure you get enough coverage when spraying both directions. Avoid spraying paint remover all over your legs if hosing off or flicking it onto legs if using a brush of sorts. That shit burns.

but yeah see above for prob a better write up than i could do hehe :P
good luck mate...
As elipsor said be casreful with washer they tend to fall into the smallest of spaces right inside the engine bay hehe :P
oh and whilst the cover is off cover it with something so no bit and bobs get into engine and check oil after doing the cover maybe just a top up :P

Yeah you only actually have to put the liquid gasket on the curvy areas near the cam

Loctite is a brand name :)
Anyways it is what I use also....not too hard to take off. You used the same stuff to seal up your sump, tranny (it uses a liquid gasket only), cam cover etc.
