thanks guy, i looked at www.yellowpages.com.au and i couldnt find it. hehe
has Mr Robert done the good 'ol: "I'll increase your fuel pressure by punching some holes in the endcap at the end of your fuel rail" trick yet??

nah, it works.
he takes off the fuel filter and puts on a fuel pressure gauge.
Then he starts your car and it shows the fuel pressure.
On the end of the fuel rail there is an endcap, and he gets a punch and hammer, and lightly taps a couple of dents into the end cap and it raises the fuel pressure slightly.
And that’s about it really.

so dodgy! lolz
well, i'm not sure if its dodgy.
the stock fuel regulator is not adjustable, so if you wanna up the fuel pressure you cant do anything else, i guess this is just a no cost work around.
lots of ppl remove the boost restrictor on 200sx's .... now thats dodgy.

Dodgy? No it isn't, it works.
I doubt that there are many if any mechanics with Robbie's knowledge of Hondas in Australia in terms of servicing and maintaining them.
On numerous occasions he and Peter have been able to troubleshoot my car when no other Honda dealer or so called Honda specialist has had a clue.
Just don't ask him about which fully sik wing or mod you want and he won't look at you like you are the scum of the earth - and then lecture you forever :P

i find he's not *that* anti-mod. well, not if you can justify it beyond beating some other car.
"it's fast enough!"... he seemed to more or less accept the track as a legitimate excuse for wanting more speed though. didn't like my swaybar though :)

Damaging a fuel pressure regulator in the way mentioned in the thread limits the regulator’s ability to function correctly…
Increasing the total fuel pressure of an engine with MAP sensing engine management without a corresponding change to the actual programming of the ECU can only result in poor fuel consumption, reduced power output & or fouled spark plugs…

i can't imagine him increasing the fuel pressure just for the hell of it... him knowing as much as he does about hondas, would only do it if it needed doing...

I’m just calling a spade a spade…
It’s not just the increase in fuel pressure that is in question…
But the method used to achieve this said rise in fuel pressure…
If you chose to believe in the “Emperor’s New Clothes”…
Then good for you…

Squeezing fuel pressure regulator in a vice is a time honoured tradition of bumping up fuel pressure. If done and it works at idle to provide the required pressure then it will work in the rest of the rev range (idle is where you get the maximum amount of fuel passing through the regulator). Effectively all it does is increase spring seat pressure.
Adrian is correct though, how do you know you need it, what tuning have you done to support it? And the big one, how are you going to lower it when it gets too high?
Generally, most factory ECUs run a little bit rich (conservative) when the motor is in stock configuration at WOT. You will actually lose a bit of power if nothing else is changed other than increasing your fuel pressure.
I'll ask Robert in more detail about that when and if I see him on Friday - should be taking my car there for a service for the first time!
Btw, how long do you guys usually have to wait to get the car back? I'm assuming it's gonna be a one-day job, but do they make you drop off your car early in the morning (8am) and then you pick it up in the late afternoon? Let's say this is a car scheduled for a 30k+ service.
Thanks.
SiR.

If you booked before, you can probably hang around (depending on how busy he is). He's not like some dealerships where they say come back after 5!
Cool! Cheers for that wynode :)
