My 1st service for the Accord cost around $60. Changed the oil filter cart and oil (filled with FMXMagnatec...??). Also had to pay $1.10 for a washer and drain (whatever that is).

The dealerships you go to use Castrol? mmmm.. My dealer uses Honda everything.. and the engine oil is so expensive.. I wonder if I could use Castrol MagnaTec on my 5000km service....

"Always use genuine Honda Oil and Lubricants" .. I'll bring my own own next time :P :P :P :P

Any recommendations besides MagnaTec?

WTF is up with the washers????? :?:

Everytime my accord (cd5) get a service at honda I always get charged $2.46 for one 14mm washer.

Anyone know what it's for? I've always wanted to ask...

Honda engine oil isn't expensive. Actually, it's cheaper than most brands out there. I only paid $27.50 for 5 litres of Honda FEO engine oil. Not sure how much the Type-R engine oil costs though. I bet there won't be much difference in price.

The sump plug washers are a one use only item - the alloy compresses and forms an oil-tight seal. This is the same type of washer used on other late model cars.

I pay 40c for the one on my holden. i can't understand why honda charges so much more.............I suppose it's the cosat of an import :?

about to get a 10K service...Hey Neil

Have you got a quote for the 10k service yet? and where do you service your Accord?

Ive called several Honda dealers in Sydney and they all charge around the $70 mark for the first service.

The quote I had for the 10K service is $120 total.

I get my car serviced @ Austral Honda in Brisbane.

As my car is a company car, using Fleet Card, it may be cheaper, I haven't asked.

yeah usually fleet cars do get a discount, but this is about 50% cheaper than retail. Lucky you.

Just out of curiosity, can I borrow my friend's fleet card and use it?
