ahaha yeh, she needs a new car, and she was looking at the integras, i was just curious, being an integra lover myself, what are the specifics of the car? like, what enigne is in the 2005 integra lux model? also, is that the best integra to get? what are your opinions.
i was thining, she may wanna swap enignes with me ;)
thanks :P

Integra (http://www.carsales.com.au/pls/carsales/!cs_content.dealer_vehicle?vehicle_id=2631367¤t_rec=3&total_rec=14&sort_type=1&make_id=19&model_id=66&state_id=-1&search_distance=25&year_min=2004&year_max=2005)
if that works ^^^, thats the one shes thinking of getting.

the luxury model is not that fantastic, "more luxurious" but engine is nothing compared to the others. my integra would chop it. personally id recommend the Type R but in this case coz its for your mum id definately have to say the Type S. Best combination of comfort and performance. just my 2cents

dude your mum isnt going to get a sports and mod it and cruise around in it...the luxury model would be fine for your mum...if she is into performance get the type S...if she wants something to run around the luxury model would do it fine

Its up to your mother. If she doesn't/cant/dont want to drive a manual car then she has no choice. Also the premium for the Lux to the S is around $3000, so if she can't justify the premium and has no intension of putting that extra money to use, then it would be smart to go ahead for the Lux IMO.

My mum was looking to buy a car aswell but earlier this year and i was really trying to get her to get an integra preferrably the type s... But because mothers are mothers they dont need a performance car or anything, plus an integra is too small for the motherly things they do (shop, shop, pick up kids from school, shop)
Rofl... my mum ended up buying an accord euro.. she loves it!

Doesn't the lux come with 118kW k20a3? In that case, as long as she stays below 5000rpm, she'll still be as quick as a Type S that stays below 5000rpm.
Go for the lux since it has an auto.

bring it on man, my IN73GZ will chop your integra, unless uve got a b18c in ures ill take you any day!!!!
i would say get the luxury cos she will probably get sick of the stiffer ride of the type s with 17's etc and the luxury is probably quieter too, im talking from experience here cos in the couple of times my mum has been a passenger in my car she complains no end about how stiff the ride is.
i see that one is at honda north, i would definately recommend you go and see prestige honda in melville, i bought my 02 dc5r from there about 2 months ago, and found them much nicer to deal with than honda north, heaps less pressure etc and when car salesmen see a woman they try and slam her on something.

thanks everyone for ur responces :) its greatly appreciated :)
and yeh integz, bring ur car over to perth and we will drag :\ *couhg cough*
i have the luxo integra
mum loves driving my car and doing motherly things is not a problem with my lightly modded dc5
the auto dc5 can be fast in traffic when driven correctly
but if you guys are talking about drags, then forget it...the auto is good for 16.6s 1/4mile
in the mountains however, with suspension tuning, i can keep up with the R (unless the driver of the R knows the mountain roads like the back of his hands) which in that case, i have no hope

lol...
you talking about my car??
it doesnt' have Type R bodykit
it has factory standard kit...
To the thread starter: what FR33K said is right...
a 2005 Luxury DC5 auto for around $40k and in 2 years time....it will be around the mid $20k mark
might as well buy a pre facelift DC5 auto with lower kms which is already less than $30k to begin with...try to find one with leather and sunroof (the Luxury edition, not the Special Edition...although they are sweet too)

i believe Fr33k said "LIMITED EDITION" not LUXURY model, they are 2 different models are they??? he is refering to a different model
FR33K
06-11-2005, 12:41 AM
nah im not talkin about the luxury...
this is how it is...
1. luxury
2. limited/special edition (the one i mentioned above with all options)
3. type r
the factory standard kit is the same kit on the type r ?? less the rear spoiler...
example "Limited Edition with ABS, Electric Windows, Sunroof, Leather Interior, Honda Body Kit, 17" Alloys, Low Profile Tyres (also still have original wheels and tryes) 1 female owner and log book.Price $28,990"
******ill chop chop all of uzz chop chop (keep on topic stop trying to compare dick sizes, u know who you are)
anyway back to point, go the limited sounds rather nice...

why does everyone bag out the auto DC5's. i got one and i constantly hammer commodore V6's. IMO they are greate cars.

yeh auto hondas go alright, i had an auto da9 and it still hammered any other auto(within reason) and still killed many a manual. However it wouldnt keep up with my manual da9.
i believe Fr33k said "LIMITED EDITION" not LUXURY model, they are 2 different models are they??? he is refering to a different model
ppft..i know what he said...i own a Special Edition Honda Integra since it was released in June 2002
and no the OEM Bodykit is not the same as the Type R
different front lip, different side skirts and different rear lip
what i meant to say is there's no point in getting the facelifted DC5 Luxury as it is still around $40k....
the Pre Facelifted DC5 Luxury (yes, with all the same interior equip but different headlight and bumpers) is more worth while...they go for around high $20k to mid $30K...
Unless you particually like the Facelifted DC5...and don't care about paying an extra $10k you get the same thing in the end....
the limited almost sounds like a type S...
the Limited Edition was the stepping stone for Honda to axe the TypeR and bring in the new models all with leather seats
they said there was only suppose to be 200 Special Edition Honda Integra, what a load of BS...
now every integra has leather seats and sunroof

lol subtle difference??
...that rear is so different...omg..
i come across alot of people thinking they know my car better than i do...
perhaps you might want to look at more reliable sources to research from if you are to buy a car
who knows which DC5 you end up buying..

well i really more talkin about the front and sides coz i didnt have pics to compare the rear..
but in the pics that i put up its very hard to pick the differences coz of the angle of the shot

ahhh stop your whining kids!! sound like a bunch of school girls hahaa
the limited edition is nice, but i also do remember in 2003 when my mum wanted to buy a typeR there was one that came in championship white colour, white 17" alloys, typeR bodykit, recaros, typeR wing, foggies etc.. it was a special edition or something.. very nice but she didn't like the recaros haha thats why she didn't buy it, but when the typeS came out this year, she saw it and bought it.. NOW ITS MINEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE :D:D:D
dude tell her to buy a typeS then you's can trade ;) hehehehe
nah nothing worng with auto DC5, i saw some with type R bodykits which looks good too.
