OzHonda logo design competition

Hi all,

We are looking for submissions for an official OzHonda logo. This is the logo that will be featured on the main site, the forums header, OzHonda stickers and pretty much anything OzHonda related.

As a reward, he/she whose logo is chosen gets to choose their own userlevel (instead of the boring 'Member'), have credit to him/he posted on the main webpage as well as have his/her car as the feature car on www.ozhonda.com

From all the submissions gathered, we will choose the best 5 that are found to be appropriate and a Poll will be created by the following week. In this poll you will have the opportunity to choose which of the 5 logos should make it.

So start posting, and if you need me to host anything, then email your entry and username to forums@ozhonda.com

So get those creative hats on and start designing some logos!

By the way, if you guys have to choose colours, try and stick with blue / lighter colours as they will go with the site / forums.

i think there should be different logo's used for the website/forums as it can be more graphic orientated with 3d effects or pictures like done by some of the members, but as for a window decal i don't think these would work... so a mixture would be good :)

Nice designs everyone.. but think of what the logo will look like when stuck on a winshield. It might look alright on screen, but it could also really awkward on someones Type R or s2000.

Keep the designs pretty simple, but are also able to send the message across.

I agree with whoever suggested there be 2 logos, one for the website/forums/etc. and one for car decals...

hehe... this threads expanded big time. im a fan of apexi's and DXS's first couple and a few of the other simple ones.... i don't think we should use too much colour in the stickers. black or white should be dominant?
Hey mods how bout creating a poll in another week or two then we can vote? (i'd contribute to these designs but i'm completely lost in that particular creative department...)

also, if we have a car in the background on ours stickers (re: DXS's, wins, etc), how bout we take a group shot with a variety of the main hondas, eg. tegs, civics, accords,etc.... I noticed (as someone else mentioned) that the sticker features the DC5.... im not aware many ppl on our forums have dc5s.... shouldnt we display something more representative of our forums? maybe a few dc2's and ek/eg's etc etc.... (accord for calvo :P) like a lineup shot in the background....just a thought...

The sticker should be something simple and easy to read from a distance (while also incorporating the .com of the URL).

i really like the design too man.. cept for the graf style "OZ" in big letters at the front... maybe if it was like the previous ones and the "OZ" was the same font as the rest of the writing that'd be more my thing personally. I have this weird quirk, i cant stand "Oz", i think its cornier compare to "Aus"...... but once again, sick. looking good.... glad to see so many ppl put in design effort. :)

For the sticker, the text is going to be white. But you can't read white text on a white background, hence the reason I made the background black :D

The only colour on the sticker is white. The rest will be transparent.

i really like the lucky number 13 design man. Once again i hate the Oz standing out... looks really tacky to me cos whenever i see Oz i get connatations of dodgy souvenier gear and just corny shit referring australia as "oz" this or that. lol. saying that, i liked the even graf style better than the new sharp font. Looks wayyy too 80s.... like Oz aerobics or something.... :roll: id prefer if the oz was incorporated into the name and shared the same font, and didnt stand out as much... cos i mean, the emphasis is on the fact that its a Honda club/group as well. just my 2c, if theres anyone reading this of similar mind pls chip in and back me up, for all those that disagree would b good to hear ur thoughts too. :)

you just set the template up to follow the area where you want it to cut on the die. So a fade out can have a white or clear background.

What colour are we making the car sticker?

I hope it's going to be all white as i don't want any gay colours clashing with paint jobs. There's nothing worst than a bright red sticker on a green Honda for example. Just looks plain gay. Plus white is simple and stands out!

Any thoughts? Maybe the one used on the forums can have a splash of Honda red through it like the ones above...?

i just spoke to my signwriter friend and for the design layout of the ozhonda sticker, it is possible to digitally print a fade effect on vynil, but you will have a clear strip on the window and it will look very messy. almost like a strip of sticky tape on the window.

it is a different story for vynil on say a car body, but for a window civic type r, its just not feasible :roll:
