Hi all,
As part of the changes around here the next thing we've decided to do to stop spamming is to scrap the 50 post requirement for becoming a member.
From now on to become a "Member" you need to be registered for at least 90 days and have at least 1 Post Quality (http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=31660) point (ie Green dot under your name).
Post count has nothing to do with it anymore and hopefully this (coupled with the hiding of post counts) will help reduce some of the spamming that takes place.

Sounds like a good decision. The idea will definitely stop the useless spamming by the new comers in the forum. Good work Win.

This is a good example to why the OzHonda GM has taken the post counts away tRipitaka.

I'm a bit lazy to check at the moment (too damn hot). But it won't be quite objective as we did disabled new registrations for awhile (usually around 15-20 new users per day).

if you have imposed a restriction for new registrations, you know you must be doing something right, as more and more people are wanting to be a part of this forum. Well done OzHonda

Yeah, the one thing that I think the thing I don't like about sites like Honda-Tech is the sheer volume of posts that make no real sense.
With OzHonda, it seems to be a smaller kinda community, and the information that is on hand is pretty top knotch.
Probably 99.9% of the people who come here appreciate the fact that there aren't too many flame wars and spammage, so thanks.
And sure, this place will grow as it gets better known and so forth, but I think the one thing that we all have to be careful of, is attracting the right crowd of people. People who love their cars, love the lifestyle that it gives them. Not people who just come here to spread disinformation and abuse others.
:D
(plz dont like, yell @ me for spam)
