depends how it's been treated. if it's been serviced on time its whole life...no reason why it would die. hondas are known for that :)

200 + is fine... the honda B series engines are proven to be reliable, long lasting engines.
Just keep it regularly serviced.

they are made to be driven hard.... but how many people do you see thrashing the crap out of a decent car???

that's true actually. the real enthusiasts will actually look after their cars. maybe it's a misconception that if a car is modded then it must have had a hard life...not necessarily the case. if anything it's the people who don't really care that would thrash their car to bits/service it with shitty stuff

This question is like the ever so popular "how long is a peice of string".
Without anything to back it up its very hard to say. 200,000 could be on its last legs, could be FINE if its looked after properly. Ive had a b16a with 325,000 km that was fully serviced and it never gave me any issues for the duration of my ownership (which was 20,000km). Drive the same (infact a little better due to idle issues) than my old 130,000 b16a. If it has full service history and every issue has been attended to, its likely to be fine. Get a proper mechanical check (RACV stuff is ok but theyre not very thorough, especially mechanically from my experience). If you have a mechanic, take it to him to get it checked out. If you dont have one, nows a good time to build a relationship with a mechanic who can over see your car and will oversee all future car related issues.
Yeah I agree.
If you like the inside and outside of the car, and there isn't rust. Take it to your trustyworthy mechanic and ask him to really go over it.
If the above is okay, make sure the price is right for the KM, then have fun :)
Don't forget, if you buy a car just before the 100k, 200k, or ((xxxK/1000)=100) then you're going to need to give it a ~$100 service, with everything flushed and changed including timing belts etc.

Its a little more than ~ $100 for major service but thats a valid point.
Sorry, I mean't $1000.
Well, maybe $1000 is too much, but it's definately a good $400. And PERSONALLY, whenever I buy a second hand car, I flush and do everything again anyways.

Good idea Moya. Its always safe to flush everything so you also have personal satisfaction and piece of mind.
