I've found the Neuspeed short shifter installation link.

does anyone know if its the same for the CL9 interms of removing the various panels to access the shifter?
anything i need to take note of?

Not for Spoon but hope it helps...

For my part, the panels are the hardest bit to remove after the ball joint on the shifter itself...

Can be a bit trickey to do as levering panels off can break the clips that hold the panels in place take your time don't rush. The clip that holds the Gear shift cables in is very tight as well. But looks good where did you get it.

i get most of my stuff from overseas sources shipped into Australia.
tried selling the SS but no one's buying it so its going onto my car!

anyway so the removal of panels is as per the neuspeed instructions?
is there anything else i need to take note of or becareful about?
don't wanna break anything...

Spoon short shifter installed!

tried to DIY,
took off the gear knob panel, cup holder panel(broke 1 click in the process) but couldnt finish the job due to a screw in the arm rest compartment having messy thread...spend an hour trying to get it off, used 4 diff screw drivers, tried to hammer a socket over it, tried to use pliers to get it off...couldnt.
so went to a mechanic, left it there for an hour and its in!

shorter and more precise gear shifting now.
and i think i know why the stock shifter is at an angle...its cause if the shifter is straight and your handbrake is pulled up, trying to move into reverse gear is abit of a hassle..so honda bent the shifter...

nice sulley :D

i wonder how it compares to the comptech short shift and why spoon chose to design a whole replacement instead of just the little attachment.

The original Honda shift lever is bent so it avoids the hand brake interference as Sulley mentioned. Spoon designed this application for race use where the accuracy and feel of shifting is paramount.

nice sulley!
post some pics of ur car! even though it may be stock now, i cant wait to see how it will look after u mod it
if the items you bought and are selling is anythin to go by, then ur euro with ur modding tastes should be one hell of a nice car!!! :D

btw does anyone know if this would void the warranty on the shifter? it would wouldnt it?

i had a good look at both the shifters..
based on pure looks, it looked as though spoon just took a honda one and change the lever for a bent to a straight one..

but after driving around abit, the gear shifting seems more precise and firm...

im getting a round gear knob which screws further in so should shorten the shifts even more..
