hey this is probably gonna sound like a newbie question, but im gettin a full exhaust system n pod filter installed and was wondering if i have to reset the ecu or something. A friend of mine mentioned it... and i had no idea wat he was talkin bout..

Can someone please explain wat he was talkin bout, and explain the purpose for it??

Thanx :)

You dont have to reset the ecu after you get a new exhaust but it is a good idea.
To do it you just unplug the battery for about 5 mins.
This makes it forget everything it has learned about running the engin and relearn it with the new exaust.

Forget dis-connect your battery, that is what the ECU fuse is for...
Pull the ECU Battery Backup Fuse out for 2 minutes with the ignition off, then put the fuse back in...
If your having a mechanic fit the pod & exhaust, they should reset the ECU for you!

Is there much point in doing it?

do it to clear ECU codes from the memory and AFAIK reset the fuel map etc...apparently its good to do when modifiying the engine in anyway so the car readjusts to the varibles quicker.
