How can u risk putting in something, that you don't know if its legit, like that in our car???

What happens if it blows up your engine?

Its very common for these chips to be stuffed. Best to take it out and save up for something real and thats going to do something.

Who installed the chip? did you do it or was a professional involved? As tinkerbell has mentioned, it could have been zapped with static when getting here. I would have a pro look at it and give you a proper diagnosis.

um, the check engine light is giveing a pretty good diagnosis:

it is gone.

re-install the OEM stock chip - if this does not fix it, the whole ECU has been stuffed.

lucky you, I saw this thread, I had this problem before with gizzomo chip on my b18c.
OR you need to do is to RESOLDER the 28pins and other small chip(I cannot remeber the name) again. Its is likly that one of the pins you solder on is touching /not on properly. You need to clean the contact point properly with solvent.

This is hillarious.

If you've installed the chip back-to-front, forget it, its FRIED.
Money well spent!

ALWAYS research the seller, to get an understanding on their skill level and legitimacy.

Let me know if I can help you in anyway. Although this is very funny, I hate seeing this kind of activity, esp when it relates to ECU's.

The most common issue with the chip install is correctly soldering all the pins. Its also a good idea to get an adapter so you can swap chips in and out as you please.

i got mine from ebay from Phase2, thats the chip used in the below diagram

did you get obdo or obd1, they are not interchangable.
obdo is 89-91
obd1 is 92-95

i think the lesson learnt is only buy from legitimate sellers. and stuff off ebay isnt always garanteed.
Why would u take a risk like this on your baby????
i certainly wouldnt!

problem solved all good had to resolder the chip for the 100th time and reset the ECU all running very well now... not much difference in powerwise but now teh LS revs out to 8200RPM lol.. probly end up blowing the engine soon...

just keep in mind ur cars peak power is at 5900.. its all downhill from there

"stop making more power" is more correct

it will still be making power, but it will slowly decrease, rather than stop...

or it may actually stop making power entirely, due to terminal engine failure, but lets hope that doesnt happen...
