View Full Version : how quick would this be roughly?
im planing on swappin a jdm h22a into my car with these mods.. a TWM 50mm individual throttle bodies kit with aftermark bosch competition injectors, full skunk 2 stage 2 cam kit (not sure how much i'll advance the timing) with an ecu upgrade (most likely hondata) so i can get the 9000rpm redline and watever else goes with it, 4-1 headers, 2.5" exhaust system, short ram cai and a 100 shot of nos (wet).. with all those mods in my dc4 integra which weighs about 1150 kg's... wat times should i be expecting on the q/mile?? i'd be running on street tyres.. most likely 215/40.. lsd will be stock with the h22a gearbox.. im hoping u guys say 11s or 12s hahaha :D

The Cam's alone if the engine is built correctly should bring you up over 145kw+ at the wheels, the ITBs will give you a nice midrange increase also which is very useful on the track, headers I would re think and go for a 4-2-1 design, and the 100 shot NOS I would use a dry setup ( if your already using larger injectors and pump ) no need for a wet setup.
As for predicting times, meh what the the tatslotto numbers for Saturdays draw ?
12's might be achievable if you cut a low 1.8 60foot, then spray NOS in 3rd and 4th but really comes down to how the car is setup.

i just dont understand why you wouldnt just go turbo????
fair enough if you wanna stay n/a but when you add nos you cancel that out...
for the money your likely to spend on such a set up you could make the same, if not more power with a turbo setup and also have much more potential depending on the parts you use.

depending on suspension set-up,
mid-high 12's if lucky, low-mid 13's easy...
street tyres will be the hinderence IMO.
plus dont "aim for a redline", let the engine combo tell you this on the dyno...

hmm, wouldn't he be spending less???? my assumption (correct me if im wrong) is that it is quite hard to turbo charge a h22a engine because of the high commpression and the sleaves are usually not up to the task of forced induction. so that would mean lowering compression in the engine, (new pistons or de-comp plate???) + turbo kit + engine management + all the other bits & peice's for driving and reliablity. I think the most expensive thing in his all motor set up would be the ITB's, noss kit aint that much & cams, well skunk2 are expensive, but i just think it would be cheaper going all motor on a h22a.

it would be chepaer going all motor B series with nos, but that is not the question is it?

i really dont feel nos cancels out an n/a setup.. since nos is just something injected into ur fuel system.. i just think of it as running extra "octane" through ur fuel lines :D... besides... wen u install nos u hav the choice whether u wanna use it or not.. with a turbo its there 24/7... my goal is to be a turbo eater.. not to join them
well im gettin everything relatively cheap.. well i think so.. itb's are gonna cost me just under $3000, the cam kit will cost me roughly $1800 and the nos kit around $800.. so $5600 roughly.. thats about the price of a turbo setup..

did you add into your expenses, ecu and tuning???

NOS aint gona be dat good for your engine, it wont last that long, but im all for "Turbo Eaters". there is nothing better than seeing an NA car munch a turbo machine!!!

thats an awsome sounding project.. i think you should consider not running street tyres.. at least plan on getting something better down the line somewhere..
I think u will run somewhere between high 12's - low 13's..

Lol, grudge match, lol. Would be interesting to see the difference in 60ft, 100mtr split and of course trap speed
i'm still in the process of finding a suitable/good condition half cut.
im not plannin on using nos 24/7.. obviously only on track since its illegal anyway.. so once in a while cant hurt that much..
im aiming for mid 12's with this project.. coz i mean stock h22 tegs should do high 13s - low 14s with a good driver..
im only sayin street tyres coz its gona be a daily driven car... altho i kno the itb's break emission laws bla bla bla i dont care lol... i'm also startin another project with a civic eg hatch.. i'm thinkin of putting my b18b2 into that and makin it a track car.. worth it?? or just use a more powerful engine?
how quick is ur car qball?? like 0-100kph and q/mile time??
btw lol.. i think a jdm h22 with i/h/e in an integra would be neck n neck against a standard internal boostd integra... (stock h22 teg should do high 13s, low 14s)

standard internal boosted dc4's regularly run in the 12's mate, they can pull in some trap speeds that might also suggest they can go faster again with a good suspension setup and sticky tires,
Good luck with your conversion though, try and get a hold of BADHBT on here, he has a h22 conversion. Find the pro's and cons of everthing before you start putting down cash. Big restecpa points for trying N/A though!

You are still classed as forced induction as it is know as a power adder. Also known as chemical super charging so it is forced induction as its forced in under pressure. And to the person that says these engine do not last longer on the gas you are incorrect any engine will live if it is TUNED correctly to suit the mods.

yehh i kno technically it is forced induction but the thing is its something i hav a choice to use.. i can just not use it and then be true n/a... kno wat im saying? its not like im gona brag how quick my car is on the nitrous like boostd cars do bcoz without boost wat times would they pull??.. nitrous is just that extra to help me kill turbod cars ;) ... as for boostd dc4 integras pullin 12s... hahaha plz mayb their trap speed does show they could pull better times, but theyre not pulling better times.. so u cant just say theyre pulling 12's.. best ive seen was from GSI-PSI with his 13.8... so wat im sayin is.. a standard internal boostd dc4 with street tyres.. against a jdm h22a dc4 with street tyres.. would be neck n neck
btw ive spoken to BADHBT.. he helped me out alot :D

Send Jim (online@onlineperformance.com.au) at Online Performance an e-mail they setup a NOS H22A not that long ago in a Prelude and that was one sic car to drive when we tuned it we just both looked at each other and where very happy the the output.I know the owner has had it out at the drags but its not my place to say anymore.
