Able to get myself a ARC airbox but wondering which one will be better.
Any pass experience will be cool

ARC are sh*t...way over rated and over-priced.

If you can get it for a really good deal (ie cheaper than any of the other intakes) or for free then sure, but otherwise forget it.

but wouldn't you say ARC airboxes are better than just a simple POD setup?

lol
Jus always think pod is the best
but ARC has a lot of very good feedbacks in their intake so I just wondering who has experience with arc box

ARC box is around $500and eg. Apexi intake cost $2XX

lets all face it.. its just a bling factor... both are better then stock of course but none is better then the other unless your using it on a fully worked engine..

really depends right?
coz for a small ltr car, arc box will give a better low end
pod and box never be the same right?

given both have similar setups like , boxing the heat out.
i reckons both would work similar.
arc just made the effort to make the box to shield the heat etc.. where as other people just put a pod on exposed in the engine bay.
just depends on your set up.

but yes your paying mostly for the brand name ARC
its expensive and does similar compared to a proper CAI setup

i assume we paying for the box as well since ARC make a very big box and filter is included.
if I can get it will it make arc a bit worth for the price?
=)

and have you guy ever use ARC box b4?
if not, how you guys know it is not worth the price?
What about mugen? it is around the same price as well.

*bennjamin edit Not relevant.

i used to have an ARC and i was very happy with the performance. As people have said the low end is damn good, but where the box relaly shines is throttle response.

Definitely a good intake

they still suffer from heat soak as they still draw air from in the engine bay. a decent CAI setup will out perform it.
i remember seeing a dyno test of a number of intakes and the ARC was pretty much on par with exposed pods in the engine bay.
others such as comptech and injen were much better across the range for both torque and power.
the mugen setup basically has an enclosed pod with a cold air feed right? that will be better if you can get it for the same price.

A propper CAI pod setup will be better.

The ARC is pure bling factor....as said it will be better than stock but it won't be better than a good pod setup....I would even suggest that as far as power gains go the Apex'i will offer greater gains (though the ARC will have better throttle response at low revs - basically because it is just a stock box made out of aluminium)

I have seen plenty of other Hondas running ARC boxes and sure it looks good (looks are a personal thing though) and it is the weak link in the setup.

Keep in mind that both mine and Muli's pod setups make an extra 4-5kw AT THE WHEELS.....I have not seen any other setup (i.e. non-pod) making anywhere near those gains.

If you are getting a good price for it then its an OK option.....yeah I think pods are the best because I am yet to see anyone prove otherwise. Muli and I have PROVED the gains that pods can make, everyone else is just speculating.

judging by the picture, it would drag hot air in through the top??

have you use it b4?
if yes, what do you think?

there should have a cover to enclose the filter(it is what it is in a jazz)
it is not just a stock box as ithe size is a lot bigger than a stock box and the material of the box can prevent most heat i assume.
i use pod in most of my previous rides(8 rides so far), I only like them because of the sound. Any exposed pod inside the engine will only made your car slower. it gain in dyno as they will have a fan in front of your car right?

A power gain is important but better throttle response is more important in a small car as Honda tend to have less throttle than other made.
