LS slowest
Early mdel gsi next
late model 107kw GSi/3rd Gen CRX is pretty even
VtiR - more torque, more power
Type R - in another catagory

Its not the power that kills everything else, its the weight.. and ith a half decent setup and tyres, it will out handle anything

hmm i don't know about that 'order' of cars slowest to fastest... all the numbers in magazines indicate that the older LS integra's were quicker 0-100 than gsi's.... dunno.... maybe a bit lighter? different gearing?

*cough* just stickin up for my good ole g2 *cough*

:D

most LS's are too old now to keep up, too worn out.
Magazines are full of exagerations

heheh yeah i'm just goin by what them old wheels and motor mags said... after all the gsi should be quicker since its like the next model... but yeah a 100% stock g3 gsi in good cond. vs a 100% stock g2 LS in good cond. with equal drivers and tyres would still be interesting :)

If both cars were in good condition the LS would win. Gen3 CRXs are slow as shit. Thats why they call them del slows hehe

its still a fact that they produce more power. :P

Don't know much about this topic but I was always under the impression that the GSI was faster than our humble LS... but saying that, I know I've chopped a few cars with my integra, so I can honestly say that the LS does have ballz :D

The LS is quick cause it's lighter as far as I know.. the LS is like similar weight to EG hatchy.. please correct me if I'm wrong..

having said that, I know a mate's GSi is faster than his Bro's LS.. but the LS has huge ICS system in it..

B18B + Turbo = FAST !!

Ye I think the LS may be a tad lighter, but I'm not certain. Its always been neck and neck between my LS and GSi's, and I pull away from my mate's 'new' Type R whenever he stuffs up his gear changes...

Go the mighty Automajic!

www.carspoint.com.au lists the LS as having a kerb mass of 1122kg, and the Gsi as 1146kg. Auto tranny adds around 25kg. It also says the LS has 103kw and the GSi 101kw, that isn't right is it?

Am I right to say LS Vs GSi is B18A1 Vs B18B2?

American Gen 2's had the B18A in my model LS, and the B18B in Mz Integrra's LS. There was a 10Hp difference between the two, I think being due to cam changes and other things I am not very well versed in. Dunno if its the same for us here.

89-91 LS's have a B18a1 that puts out 96kw stock, and the 92-93 LS's also had a B18a1 (thats right, same code) that put out 103kw, and GSI's B18b's put out 107kw i believe! :D i think as always, it comes down to driver with LS vs GSI

the second series DC4 apparently pulls out onli 101kw (according to a honda flyer back in like 2000)
but the 1st series apparently pulls out 107kw
according to a fren of mine who owns one

Yes, McChook was wrong. The "early" GSi, or "series one" DC4 puts out 107kw. I believe the "series 2" is a little slower.

I was going to PM, but I'll answer this here because its a question I often hear asked. So this is all an aside.

When in 'S' mode, the auto tranny will hold each gear for longer. Depressing the 'S4' button allows you to engage/disengage 4th gear. Perfect for National Park/ OP runs!

Also, leaving the car in '2' keeps the tranny locked in 2nd gear, good for Galston Gorge, but not much else. You start off in 2nd too!

Guys in the States are working on a tiptronic style control in which each gear is electronically selectable. I don't know how far they'll go.
