Hi,

I am thinking of doing an engine conversion on a 97 ek civic, it is currently a GLI model. The engines i have been thinking about are the H22A, K20A and the B18C7. Can you guys help me out here? I want to know whats the cons n pros.

Thanks

whats is this car's purpose supposed to be...

like me personally would go K20A > B18C7 > H22A

like for dragging (max accel) the H22A would prolly be the best...but too much torque steer and traction loss for cornering in a light civic...

K20A is a great engine but pricey...support is getting better for this engine too...and the gains are fantastic

and well...the B18 is a type r engine...its one of the most pure honda engines ever made imo...if you want something very fast on the street i'd recommend this as the power should still be low enough to not be annoying...but out of the three engines, this would take the most skill to drive as it has the lowest torque of the three...this would be my pick for street etc

K20a would cost you about $8000 for a new type R front cut plus engine mounts that have to come from the states and drive shafts alot of muck a$$ing around stick with a B series easy to put in dont have to change much at all to fit it in.

cheers.
