Ok guys, I am in the process of changing my timing belt and am having a PITA of a time getting the crank pulley off. I've already tried with a strap wrench (which keeps slipping). Would I be correct in my thinking to maybe see if I can get a hex key to fit inside the crank pulley to hold it in place while I undo the bolt inside the pulley?

Dumb question I know, I know I'm overlooking something simple here.

Any suggestions welcome - I miss vtec/driving my car!

yeah, we covered this issue in this thread:

there is no way you would have found it by searching, so there it is...

it is called the "rope method"

(please feel free to add to my 'reputation' by clicking my http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/aria/buttons/reputation.gif )

Thanks mate. Would never have thought of that - I would have just done my usual trick of spending more money on tools.

Left positive feedback on your reputation. :D

Well, I'm still trying to get the bolt off...

Broke a 3/4 drive sidchrome adapter on it yesterday.

Now I'm using 1/2 drive sockets but am going to try a longer bar - hope to be able to give that a go today.

If you have any luck let me know how you do it.

The rope works a treat though.
