Is this a good idea to do?
My intake manfifold is in 3 pieces,
Plenum, runners, and then different set of runners that split because it's a V6

The runners that split have been match ported and polished, but the ones that connect to the plenum are too long to hand port and polish, so should I get them extrude honed?
The engine has plenty of other work done to it as well (including tb etc)

I dare say it wouldnt be a bad idea, but are the gains to be made worth the $$$ is another thing entirely

Ring the guys up at abrasive engineering (I think they trade under) and ask them what you want done, and what gains you could expect, im sure they will steer you in the right direction

Can you let me know how it goes on the dyno?

I am more worried about losing power from losing air speed into the heads.
The heads have already been ported and polished (aren't installed yet though) and the car has everything else done bar internals or cams. Just worried that I may go down in power rather than up :(

if your rich, go for it!!
you'll get better flow thats for sure and better flow equals more power

i got a quote for the extrude honing of my intake manifold. $450 including gst.

he said that is a standard price for all 4 cyl 1 piece manifolds.

my mate is getting it done to his dc5r this week after he heard that.

I got quoted $500 for my V6 intake manifold.
It's 3 piece but he said to provide the plenum/throttle body so he can bench flow test it to make sure all runners are equal

Can you let me know how the DC5R goes please?
