i am currently trying to find a new car and was wondering how the b18b ( nonvtec) in a teg GSI Compares to the sr20de in a n15 sss.

Would would the estimated 0 - 100 be for these cars?

What are they like reliabilty wise?

Are they exspensive to fix purchasing parts... i can get cheap/free labour dads a mechanic:D

how many k's would these engines go for..

and other general adivce?

performance isnt the main thing i was a stlying car with a bit of poke to play with.

they are pretty even stock. a mate has a n14sss same mods as me, my gsi still chews him.
ive run a 15.2 im my gsi. for a sss to run low 15s the motor has to be opened up.

hondas respon alot better to mods than N/A sr20de's do

my mates ran the otha nite n14 pulsar q wit sr20 and teg vtir, pulsar won by about a bonnet. i thought the integra would beat it by at least a car. both pretty stock just i/h/e

In terms of reliability, all hondas are really reliable, and the integras were built very well. Genuine honda parts can get quite expensive, but there are heaps of after market parts that do the same job as a genuine honda part for half the price! So if u buy after market parts, and get labour cheap, it shouldnt run you to much money.
In terms of how many k's the engines will do, my GSi is sitting on about 225,000 and drives perfectly! If its been looked after well and serviced regularly, then i can't see why an integra wouldnt get past 300,000 easily.
Having a teg, i am quite biased, but in terms of styling, the integra is one of the best looking cars on the market (dc2 and dc4).

not sure he hasnt run. but yeah not sure how big exhuast is hes got jdm type r headers, the pulsar got hurricane headers think its 2.15 exhuast and diy dodgy intake lol and heavy duty clutch.

is the driver of the vtir any good???
ive chopped heaps of pulsar at cruises!!!
im sure a vtir with same mods would have my car for lunch!!!

depends on the driver so much, and dont turn this into a wish car is faster thread coz it will be closed.
the honda will be more reliable in most cases and yes is more likely to give better response when modded.
i wouldnt really go a GSI before taking a serious look at a VTiR, but id prefer the GSI to a SSS.

apparently stock sss' does 0-100 in about 8.5 seconds... id say stock gsi does about the same as wen i was stock i raced one.. from 0-100 we were neck n neck and i only managed to start pulling at about 110.. even then i only got about half a carlength infront.. but yeh u cant judge from that race coz driver's race bla bla bla.. but i can safely say the gsi is quicker at top end

as for repairs.. if ur buyin brand new genuine honda parts then of course its gonna be more expensive than to buy than nissan parts bcoz its HONDA :D and we all know the parts for honda engines are manufactured better :p

anyway to avoid the high costs if u ever need repairs call up "Hondarec" at the gold coast.. they have genuine parts that they sell very cheaply

There are 3 models between 94-01:

-DC2R (Type R)
-DC2 (VTI-R)
-DC4 (GSi)

Teg's with kits look good on stock height, but they look incredible dumped. If your gonna get a kit, u have to lower it at least 2".

Don't know if there was ever a recall...does anyone else know?
