FOG LAMP GLOBE MOD H11 to H9

I found this thread by accident when i was looking up some H11 globes its a cheap mode to get your foggies brigher at fraction of the cost by retro fitting H9 in the same h11 socket

Reading the ls1 forum, I have a feeling this does not work on the Euro. I could be wrong(and I hope I am wrong). Can someone confirm this?
