does anyone know any other bonnets that are light-weight and roadworthy in VIC. i asked CF and FG will not be covered, something possibly like aluminium or something?

IMO nothing apart from stock is roadworthy. The metal used in the exact shape of the bonnet , is designed to crumple in a certain way etc. Changing any characteristic of the bonnets material or density etc will change the way it works under impact ! Not always for the better too.
