Hey guys i've decided to do up my exhaust system as my car is too slow.

Now, I can get new lightweight racing headers, the piece that connects to the headers (franges?), a catalytic converter and then the exhuast tip. The only piece I cant get is the piece of piping that connects the exhaust tip to the catalytic converter but I'm pretty sure I can use my exisiting one atm.

Now as you can see, I'm not buying a catback exhaust system but i am getting pieces of it and more and hopefully can make one up (plz tell me if im doing something wrong cause i dont really know much about this lol).

Just wondering if thats all to it? Cause I can't really seem to find the piece of piping that connects the exhaust to the converter, so I might use the existing piece (if thats a good idea), otherwise I might scope out where to buy one or just buy a whole catback exhaust system then buy the headers seperately.

This whole setup (the headers, header connecting piece, converter and exhaust tip) is going to cost me around $600, is that a good steady price? I think the brand is DC-S or something like that. Or does anyone know any places where they sell catback exhausts for a car like mine in that price range?

If the exhaust is done up like this, what power increase am I looking at?

Cheers guys.

mate.... first things: dont do the catback section in separate bits. do it all at once. it WILL be cheaper than having to go at it time after time.
with the cat you might as well get a metal internal high flow cat as they are quite cheap now and work well
doesnt matter if the headers are light weight or not. just as long as they are a good design and actually make gains. you'll also want a flex join between the header and cat
as far as power increases go you might gain about 10% - 15% with a decent designed system

u might be lucky to make an extra few hp at the wheels.

it will sound better and u might have better torque but IMO dont waste the money on superficial mods on a f22b. either turbocharge it or drop ina h22a.

yeah thats a slight possibility like in a years time lol but by the time i finish paying off my car i might sell for something different, its an auto so its quite shank to drive, im just lookin to do it up engine wise slightly, see I was thinking of teaming the exhaust up with an pod with air intake and some accord racing spark plugs, nothing too serious :D just for the fun of it really atleast this way when i go on the tracks i can beat my friend as we both have stock accords lol

lol.. your friend may very well still beat you..
weight comes into it aswell.. plus who is a better driver etc. An exhaust system on your car will give u some gains, but IMO not all that noticable gains.

dont worry about getting "racing plugs" either. just use the factory recommended NGK's. for a stock engine these are as good as anything else. if anything just replace them more often

alos, dont think you wanna keep the stock cat back piping, cos itll be small and pressbent, not good for powergains or flow.
