well on friday night in christchurch N.Z. Kelford did a couple of test runs in there civic. the first a mid 13 was just to make sure the car would stop etc.. the 2nd run the car made a 10.88 @ 125.9mph with a tune from an older motor (that blew up before racing) it ran a 1.57 60ft without there wheelie bars fitted. Kevin hopes to see the car make 330whp with its current motor and hopes to run low 10's if not go faster during this season.. The car is running a custom crank, rods, pistons, by all accounts its 2.3litre, 15.25mm lift cams, custom head work, roller rockers etc etc.. it runs a custom 4spd gbox using an H22 housing, ITB's, Hytech side exit header, race gas, 750kg with driver..

Congrates to the 1st 10sec FWD N/A in new zealand..

I dare say Online wont be far off running a 10 aswell, and i can say the same for myself, I've decided to no-longer try to run a 10.8 with a factory bottom end and have a few parts in transit to see the power go upwards..

The season and next should see the all motor class get better and better.

I'd like to come over to aussie early next year depending on the $$$ of getting there.. do you have an event schedule for the big meets over there.. I can get my 2nd motor built shortly after this one is finished and get my spare axles sorted sooner and I'll be almost all set. I think Kelford plans on racing in aussie very soon, Although we do have a brand new track being built so some new level of racing will come out of New Zealand very soon...

Thats an awesome time there, Big congrats to everyone involved.. Gary We have a pretty big event in May here in Sydney or there is the Jamboree in QLD in September.. Let us know if you want to come out, you can just leave your car in my shop here, that way you can still work on it if need be.

May is pretty good for me, i will try to sort things bewteen now and then I will let you know early next year on the plans of coming across..
is there anything nasty in the rules regarding weight vs capacity or anything like that? and fuel rules? I will probably run Av-gas or something like that.. although i'll try and con my mate to take a couple of days off and tune the car over there..

Congratulations to the Kelford Cams team. I've been waiting to here about this car run for months. Great job and a big step for all motor motor fwds in Australasia.
Good luck Gary on your k20a build up. Can't wait to see what a built k can do.

Massive congrats on the time there !

Just a comparison. A 700HP R32 GTR just got a 10.9 a few weeks ago over here in Perth. Its just goes to show how big of an achievement the NA EG has done.

Huge thumbs up !!!

this is going to sound dumbass but y is the muffler peaking out the front bar?!!?!??! wots the purpose of that

sivic

its not a muffler. its the header
ie: exhaust system consists of only header, no cat/catback/muffler, and exits from side of front bar. collector runs parrallel to engine rather than going underneath
