How well tuned are we ?

I hear lots of talk about Honda engines, in particular VTi being so well tuned from the factory, that mods can cause power losses.

With this in mind, is it really worth applying standard modifications and if so what would you consider to be essential

with exhaust work especially be carefull you don't lose power, cheap headers and cheap pressure bent piping can leave you worse off than when you started. do a dyno run before you mod and then a run on the same dyno after to see if you have gained any power and where you have gained it.

well, that is if you are feeling like you have lots of cash and time to mod your car =)

i think i noticed a bit of a power loss with my old EG Vti when i put an aftermarket muffler on it :?

I got increases in power from my cat back and CAI.
Big torque increase too... I can cruise around in 5th almost anywhere. I find i very rarly need to rev past 2500 in 50/60 zones.
