i've been told that it was behind the glove box, but i just had a look and theres no ecu there


where else could it be located?

sorry if i'm stupid but carbies dont use ECU's. only EFI cars right?! that was my understanding for the past however long years.

carbies still use a ecu....just not to control fuel injectors....
i dont know the technical side, but i had an carbie ED and thats where the carb ecu is

Like Heist said. under the passenger carpet. Either towards the front or on the left hand side next to your left foot on the wall (still under the carpet). Fairly certain the ecu's on the carbies is mainly for emissions control. It still takes readings for speed, rpm's etc though so you can hook up meters and stuff to it.

for EF / DA models it's where the passenger's feet go - under the carpet near the firewall.. for EG/EK/DC it's on the left side of the footwell under the carpet... but on the side not where your feet go..

Yeah, the Carb ECU's are used for emissions control. That is why they have an Exhaust Gas Oxygen Sensor in the manifold. If they start running rich, there is an air bypass hose to lean out the mixture.
