hello guys! so as you know,d16a8 is not very strong for forced induction.as far as i know,it should handle like 220 hp without big problem, but if want to go for more, what cheap mods can be done? i have heard about b16 rods.can you tell me more?

if ur gonna boost it...

cheapest i recommend wood be up the head gasket...

decreases ur compression ratio so u can stuff more boost....

u can go the rods but there is no point in having super rods but a stock crank...

the crank will snap sooner or lata and thats worse than snapping the rods.... :thumbdwn:

When your looking for higher numbers than that cheap goes out the window. And b-series rods will not fit.

read up on turbod16.com and homemadeturbo.com

b16 rods can be used but the block has to be notched and i think something about the connecting pins need to be custom...

ok,lets say we are ok with rods.how much pistons handle? the max?

that a pretty open question. it really comes down to how well the car is tuned.

also, with the rods, no point in stuffing around trying to modify b series rods to fit when you can just get new aftermarket ones which are much stronger - Eagle rods etc..

i will try to get b18 rods.well it will be very difficult in my country, but i will try.
but lets say.with good tuning, will stock pistons be able to get to 300bhp?

As sivic said for the price to get b series rods to fit you'll be better off going for aftermarket ones :)
