I do, but I'm not sure that it's directional in my car. I'll try to pay more attention next time.
It feels like the mounts need to be tightened or something. I'm going to get my dealer to check it at the next service.

Hi All...
I am sure I have posted this problem before...
Yes i did have that seat sliding problem. I have the Lux electric seat. I took it to Burswood Honda and initially they didnt detect it, then they did during the test drive with me.
They ordered a new seat base for the driver's seat and the problem is fixed now!!! yay!!!
Good luck to you!

I found you have to make sure both seat clamps lock in evenly Left and Right to prevent this. Coz its like you can make the seat lock off center. know what I mean.

Same thing is reported in the TSX sold in Canada and US. Get it fixed under warranty :)

Yes, definitely get it fixed under warranty.
It was driving me nuts, didnt used to happen when i got the car from new. Then out of the sudden it just did and starting to get worse. I thought I am imagining it.
Now that it has been fixed, i am happy once more. :o

OK!,
After 14++ months with the problem, I finally can get a honda service to fix it upcoming friday.
I have been going to Burswood honda (I live in Perth btw), and They really know how to make ppl piss off. I complained the seat first time in jan 2006 service. and the movement just gone during the test drive.
and I complained again during last service in jan 2007.
They said slight movement on the driver seat was normal (I Didnt think the guy know what he is talking about).
And later when I got home, I tried to call them again to book one of their staff to test drive with me.
They REFUSED, and they refer me with honda customer relation number to complain. even on the service receipt, they openly didnt tick the box for test driving the vehicle (which is a must during every service).
Then I went to Honda North, one of their technician just quickly look at the seat, and try to shake/move sideway the seat by hand (didnt need to test drive it) and he found the seat moves excessively (bingo!) then they ordered a new seat base for the car.
I was bit worried because the car warranty finished at the end of march.
but the warranty still there and they cant refuse
Let's hope everything going fine this friday!

This maybe slightly off topic. My drivers seat has begun to make a single loud "click" when cornering quickly. I can reproduce it by hand when stationary.
I unbolted the seat and had a look underneath. The cause seems to be a rivet with excessive free-play, meaning that I can't repair it. Haven't spoken to Honda yet but will do so and expect to have the seat base replaced.
Has anyone else experienced this symptom with their drivers seat? Stephen8512, your symptoms sound similar.

If you are under warranty, get them to fix it for you. Could you take a pic of the offending rivet for the benefit of us who don't have any warranty cover left?

I'm still hearing this click and have noticed that it only occurs after turning left, when my weight settles back on to the seat, pushing the seat base back down causing a loud single CLICK! (My weight shifts right when turning left, lifting weight off of the left hand side of the seat). This is supported by my suspicion of a loose rivet on the left hand side of the seat base which I can reproduce by hand by twisting the back of the seat.
Can anyone reproduce these symptoms? This is getting annoying. The click (and suspicious rivet) are alongside the handbrake.
I've tried and failed with one dealer and am going to try with another next week.

omg i thought i was going insane!
i have this same problem! only happens occasionally, maybe 2-3times a week... at first i thought it was somethig rolling around under the seat hitting it, but now i know its something to do with the seat base... im out of warranty, and its not happening often enough for me to worry about it. besides, if i finally find another set of rsx seats - problem solved :p lol

i bought mine last year april, is it still under warranty? or do i have to ghetto it ? i was thinking of brides , but i don't have a clue wtf warranty even does for this honda car, so i still don't want to void it
my power steering fluid is perfectly topped up but the steering is so fcuken hard i hate it. i stopped driving it seriously aye, then i got them to look at it and they did not do shit and gave me a receipt saying top up all fluids and mechanical check 80 bucks or some shit-when everything had just been serviced anyway. ?? now it just sits here.

hi hisoka. i live near sunnybank too! /random
anyways what do you mean you're steering is so fcuken hard? like no power steering heavy? please explain more. changing to aftermarket seats will affect the side airbags. give us more info and we should be able to help you out mang.

might find the steering is heavy compared to your EG5? just a thought.
changing seat will require engineering certificate as it effects your car safety.

like it feels as if there is no fluid, and it feels the same in my eg5 when i have no fluid but then when i checked fluid it was full, the wheel feels really tough to turn, and SOMETIMES* rarely it fixes out but then when you slow down it goes hard again and it takes ages to do a U turn lol.
does standard recaros from CL9 require saftey certificate.?

Check your tyre pressure. They should be a minimum of 32psi. I prefer 36psi on the 16" rims.
If you want to put aftermarket or standard seats in, they must have side airbags because the stock CL9 comes with side airbags. If you put a non-side airbag seat into the Euro, then you are disabling safety equipment, which then makes your car not road-worthy.

Steering does feel heavy when the tyre pressure is low. Same for most cars.

Hi,I seem to have a problem with my driver's seat height adjustment. I have my car seat up as high as it goes and I am finding that over a few days the seat begins to lower itself. Then I have to pull the lever to raise the seat again to its upmost position.
Has anyone found this to be a problem? It would not be a problem for those who like the seat down low because the seat cant't go lower.

My drivers seats clicks by pushing back on the seat or when going over bumps etc. It sounds like something internally to the seat is pressing up against something near side airbag area in the seat.
Real annoying and yet another problem i have had with the Euro (6 weeks old). There dealers are fu$*ing hopeless.

25-08-2008, 01:34 PM
Is it a click or more like a squeak? I know the TSX has a TSB regarding squeaky seats but I'm not sure if it covers the clicking sound your are describing.
The dealer will come around eventually. Keep persisting.

It's squeeking. I popped into the dealer today and one of the techs looked at it but the entire seat needs to come out and be disassembled for it to be fixed. I also reported the other remaining faults but i have been warned i may need to go back multiples times more to fix these. It's already been 4 times and i have had the car for just 6 weeks (brand new).
I have a high suspicion that i will be getting rid of the poor quality heap of crap very soon indeed. It's had more faults then my Aurion did in just a quarter of the time!
Edit - They again semi-dismissed my complaint with the rough clutch pedal yet again and said on 04-06 Euro's had this problem. I wonder if Honda raided the old parts bin when they manufactured the last of the CL9's?

It is extremely frustrating to the point where you feel like giving in to them but don't. I'll see if I can find the TSB that relates to the seat then I'll post it up for you. It will be worth taking in it with you next time. From memory they do have to remove the whole seat then I think and they cut out a small bit of carpet and then they bolt back the chair through the extra piece of carpet.
You mentioned the dealer told you that it's a common problem with the 04-06 Euro but isn't yours an 08? They should have a fix for that now.

Did you get the gift cards instead of them fixing the problem or did they fix it and give you the gift cards as well?
We would all be happy if our problems are properly investigated and fixed first time round. I'd never expect or demand to receive something for free. I only expect honest and diligent service and no crap.
