I was thinking of trading in the 1994 lxi and getting a 6th gen accord later in the year. I would have liked the v6, the only down side is it's an auto.

However I had the opportunity to take a friends 2000 2.3l lxi manual for a test drive this evening.

Hmmmm, very dissapointed. I think I will happily keep my car.

I found that you sat so much higher and closer to the sterring wheel, and it felt more cramped. Rear vision was worse than my car. It wasn't as quick as mine either, although it's slightly more powerful, it's alot heavier than my bare bones lxi.

It was alot quiter though, had to give it some gas to see if it started.

Anyone else have a similar experience?

Raz (I guess I'll wait until I can afford a euro! never! :( )

I drove my friend's 2.3 SOHC VTI-S LEV or something, the one before the Euro came out and I have to agree, the manual is nice.. it's got the power to boot even though it's only a SOHC.

But the Euro is better :D :D :P :D :D

the 6th gen was kinda cannedby the motoring press here when it was released, they called it the Homer cos it was Americanised in designed, a lot heavier with no real improvements to show for it.

However it appeals to many people still. Wouldn't trade my 5th gen for one though :)

This is one of the reasons:

1994 Accord Lxi Manual - 1220kg

2000 Accord Lxi Manual - 1372kg

2000 Accord V6 Auto - 1513kg

All that extra sound deadening, ABS, Air Con makes the I4 alot heavier. Of course the V6 would be heavier with the larger engine.

Has anyone driven the V6 6th gen??

Yeah, the 6th gen v6, if u've ever driven it feels alot slower than a camry v6 with the 1mz-fe engine.
Anyone here have big wheels on their accord, my I4 struggles heaps with them.
