Isn't lane stray warning implemented on other brands such as Lexus or Mercedes?

Adagio

Lane Stray also appears on Citroens in Australia too. Some American models have a vibrator in the seat, one for each cheek so you can feel which way you are straying.

Don't you guys reckon the 2005 Lux Enkei Euro-R'ish Rims are so much sportier than the 2006 one in this pic??

2006 didn't get engine update... I feel better with my 2005 purchase. :P

Agree, those wheels in the pic look poxy, too poshy looking.

nice find - pq point for that!

One disadvantage with that shape is I doubt you can put on the euro r kit if the bumpers are different.

It will be interesting to see if the oem body kit is different

i think they have turned a perfectly good looking car to gay.
that grille is a disgrace as to the alloys and whats happening with the front bar?
i got to say the dash looks superb and the side skirts are more integrated but as to it being an upgrade........no freakin way.

to me that car in the pic looks like it already has the oem kit.

albii - i totally agree... i mean if that picture is anything to go by it's no improvement style wise in my book. They've killed the sports luxury image the euro once had. Hopefully they bring out a revised euro-R that can change my mind coz atm it's :thumbdwn: from me too

Im so sick of seeing mummies/grannies driving the euro - this upgrade is not going to help :(

If that's the car due for Oz, why is the steering wheel on the left hand side (mirror photography possibly)? I think that's the same pic that we've seen in another thread which from memory came from Japanesecarfans.com (but don't quote me).

Can only hope the model they bring out here is that sleek silver number Honda displayed at the Frankfurt motor show.

All will be revealed in a month or so. But I agree, the car in the pic above looks awful. The only thing that car will do is increase sales for Mazda and Subi.

maybe its the colour....the colour of the car can make the car look good/shite.
that colour is just plain
the hood trim seems to have disapperated on the bonnet and is now integrated as one on the main grille.
is it me or does the grille seem a lot wider and bigger? and not as triangular?

I really wanted the mp3 player in mine, and now it's standard :(

Just had to wait a few months more :( :(

think I'll get over it ;)

Those wheels are for luxo-barges not a car with a supposed sporting image. I thought Honda had realised their mistake with earlier Accords as they grew bloated each year. From 2003 they seemed to realise that a sporting luxury image was the correct way to go so :thumbdwn:

really? I can't see any lips so I presumed it was no body kit

Chris_F
24-11-2005, 11:34 AM
yea that's the non-bodykitted model. The rear bumper actually has moldings that resemble some sort of lip but yea no kit on that picture. I've seen a picture of a face-lifted silver TSX in one of the threads about hte 06 and it looks a whole lot better. Untill i see them on the road though (and hopefully wiht some sort of sports pack) i'm not convinced by the changes

Can only hope the model they bring out here is that sleek silver number Honda displayed at the Frankfurt motor show.

The silver one at the Frankfurst show is exactly the same as the brownish one in the promo pic here -- except it had different wheels. The wagon had these wheels, the sedan had wheels that have been available elsewhere as an option as for ages.

I'm intruiged to know what the Euro R will end up looking like because you certainly won't be able to add a kit in the same way as previous. I like the new subtle side skirts.

In general, the whole look has grown on me since I first saw it. I prefer the current 17 inch wheels, but I could get used to those. The font bumper has grown on me, and I'm sure it would be an advantage to those with CAIs because you can have a duct and fog lights! I'm not keen on the chrome grille, but hopefully a Mugen grille should still fit, or I suspect that just painting the chrome body coloured could work quite well.

Unlike a lot of people, I'm not that excited by the sat-nav option. Memory seats might be useful (my wife is tiny so everything gets moved). I hope the interior goes with the silver rather than the woodgrain -- but I'd really like the more advanced computer info that seems to live in the top of the dash, which you presume will be there regardless of the sat-nav option.

I hope this is not the one we get. the new lower front grilles look bad, less neat than the old design, which was clean and tidy and aggressive, all at the same time. The new lights look like the acura tl headlights, i guess they're making the link.

hopefully its just a bad picture. but i agree, it looks a little too try hard with all the bling, and the 05 rims were 10 times better than the proposed 06 rims

24-11-2005, 02:22 PM
The grill is commodore-ish. I'm glad I have my '04. :) But it's hard to beat MP3 playback and satnav (I use satnav on my pda).

Yep, point taken. I tell ya, I'm not mad on those wheels at all, even on the blue station wagon they still look crap. And I certainly wouldn't pay that much for a lux and then have to upgrade the wheels.

Might have to think about forgoing the fuel trip meter and mp3 player and settle for an 05 model which Honda's now running out with a 5 year warranty.

The Honda Japan website has been updated for the new Accord

OK -- the Type R/S does have an add-on lip kit and side skirts from the look of the pics. In fact, it looks pretty good IMO... The Euro R grille is more like the Mugen -- which means it might be a high priority replacement part:

http://www.honda.co.jp/ACCORDEURO-R/photo-lib/image/photo01.jpg

The wheels and everything start to look better -- it will probabaly look much better in the metal:

http://www.honda.co.jp/ACCORD/type/types-ext/types-ext.jpg

Also, there's another kit in the pics too -- one of the Modulo kits which looks pretty good...

Interestingly, also among the accessories now (in Japan) are slotted brake rotors...

Great work Tobster. The Euro R/Type S grill looks sooo much better than the new stock 3 point chrome. Lots of people will be opting for a different grill as the chrome doesn't look so good IMo.

Not so sure why you say the Euro R grill looks like the Mugen grill - it is totally different.

aaronng
25-11-2005, 10:20 AM
The '06 EuroR's grill looks better because it doesn't have the top strip of chrome that the '06 Euro has. And yeah, it does not look like a mugen grill. The EuroR's grill is smaller and the mesh is closer to the front. I prefer the EuroR's grill over the mugen's, which makes it look like a vacuum cleaner. :D

Oh, and for base model lovers, I think the '03/04/05 base model's instrument cluster looks nicer. Everything else looks the same except for that steering wheel which I don't like. Here's the '06 base.
http://www.honda.co.jp/ACCORD/interior/image/inte-04.jpg

Also, do you get keyless, remoteless entry and start? It's an option in the 24TL, which is the equivalent of the Luxury model here. Too bad there is no button start. Just a knob. LOL.
http://www.honda.co.jp/ACCORD/equipment/index.html

And pity the Japanese who have to buy the 2.0L model. Look at those rims! 15 inch POWAAAAAAAAA~~~~
http://www.honda.co.jp/ACCORD/style/image/style-04.jpg

And it also seems like they only have the 5AT model, no more 6MT. And no more fabric interior for the 2.4L. Only full leather (TL) or 1/2 and 1/2 (Type S). I'm starting to dislike the Type S name. It has no hint of sportiness over the 24TL model other than the 225/45 R17 (which is on our lux anyway)

Tobster
25-11-2005, 11:22 AM
I simply meant that compared to the previous Type R/S grille which was just black with the small coloured surround and shaped in line with the whole nose, this new one appears to have a deeper body coloured bottom lip section (not as deep as the Mugen one obviously) and the plastic mesh is slightly more upright maybe... It just looked to me like Honda had moved slightly towards that inset mesh grille look...

It's amazing how a different set of wheels can make this car look like a Berlina.

The New Euro R grill doesn't look as good as the current one imo. What's with those 15 inch wheels anyways. Looks so out of place!

There will be plenty of those grills in the next few years - don't worry about it. Eg - I inquired at Mazda recently regarding an indicator stalk for my gfs 91 Mazda 626 - there is still plenty of stock of that obscure part within Mazda Australia (new!). The manufacturers know they need to service the parts industry.

Ah ok. Pity you're not in QLD. I am helping my in-laws buy a new car and they are very keen on a brand new Honda Civic GLi sedan. How much of a best price do you think they could get an automatic one for (driveaway) and I don't mean retail sticker price, I mean best price? :D

Cmon Alpine you know that sort of question should be taken to PM.

Some incidental diversion from topics is to be expected but the price of a new Civic is just way off. Lets get back on topic.
