magic !!! :p
screws ? brakets?
i did something slightly similar using a homemade bracket
on my eg i had it cable tied forever in the air dam but i found out if the plate isnt on the most outside part of ur bumper its defectable so i made i nice lil bracked and screwed it in place.
looks neater offset IMO
FREEKs looks good imo too

it has to be visible form everywhere the stock one can. so it cant be like, inbeteen 2 bits of bumper or something.
thats what i herd.

probably depends on wat state your in, and truth of the matter is that is generally up to police discretion. if the cop wants to be a dick then he can try and defect you for it, if he is aight then he will leave u alone.

me and a mate got pulled over and were both fine...
its illegal if its more then 15 degrees off the front...
so basically its legal if its pretty much facing forward...
use some creativity... screws and brackets.. start bending some metal.. :D
Cold Fusion

my plates are polycarbonate, so they dont bend :S
i might try move them tumora :)

i'm pretty sure its not defectable if its far forward enough and facing the right angle...
take the Alfa Romeo 147 for example - it comes stock with the plates on the side.
Just grab some L brackets. Then its just a matter of positioning it before u drill...
If you've ever installed a central locking kit before, you should have a look at the brackets that come with that - they're perfect because the holes are made so that you can slide it into the right position before screwing it tight.

ive tried the double sided tape thing... didnt work out too well as the plates kept fallin off. and its easier 2 have ur plate stolen.

:D well said. so help me out :D
double sided tape do the trick for number plates? cos the plate might be too heavy. its either standard big plates or slimline ones.

I've seen a plate that was held on with double sided tape for ever. But I've also seen them fall off too. but what are you guys going to do to fix up the holes where it was origonally?

they were no holes in the 1st place, car didnt come with any, it used 2 b stuck on plates. so i dnt wanna drill holes yet. but i guess ill give 3M double sided tape a go, they apparently r really good, used it on my mates honda badge lol. c how it goes 1st if all else fails i guess ill drill holes.

in WA u can get normal sized plates for the back and slim-line for the front
gxiang
03-04-2006, 06:48 PM
yea the car im getting has that setup atm, and yes, its comes from WA lol
damn if only that apply VIC too.
panda[cRx]
03-04-2006, 06:49 PM
^ lol u can do that everywhere afaik, can do in vic
you can offset the plate fine. it's perfectly legal as long as the plate does not stick out the side. that is why alot of the drift crowd gets defected
and gxiang you can't stick it on with double sided tape, it needs to be fixed down properly. i'm not sure about other states but fitting plates with cable ties in vic is illegal. so are stickers of plates

you can start a new account but you have to let a mod know you are doing it as they will need to de activate your previous account.
terms and conditions state you can only have one account.

IMO I wouldn't bother with relocating the #plates unless you had a FMIC or some thing along those lines, looks cool but I dont see much sence in doing this?
Stoosh
04-04-2006, 10:36 AM
depending on what car it is, it can look good...very nice with FMIC like lonsxc said
i was thinking about doing it to my DC4 but dont want to be drilling anymore holes
gxiang
04-04-2006, 12:59 PM
adam, u said slim at front, fat at back, u cant do that in vic can u ? unless u buy 2 sets of plates? im not gona do that for a standard plate, its not like its custom mix plates then ill think bout it.
and u said u saw a pair last nite for normal plate? cant b changed for slimline ? :)
ps. are you stalking me and my posts? lol
