LUD02C
21-03-2004, 08:54 AM
Between Michael, Mark and Rubens there isn't that much of a difference in time!
Then look who is after Rubens which is Montoya and look how far behind his time is...+ 0'00"980
Which is alot compared to + 0'00"682 (Rubens time)

They must be running light, because Webber has Michelins so it must be evenly matched..
Well should be an interesting race!!!

GO SCHMY....

McChook
21-03-2004, 11:20 AM
Should be a good race... But I will be watching the live race data from my TV, because Clipsal 500 is onat the same time... screw you channel 10 GRRRRR

GO MARK

VTEC16
21-03-2004, 04:42 PM
The actual race starts in 20 mins.....you can watch the live timing....but channel 10 is only broadcasting the race at 10:40 (after fast and da furious) tonight. :(

....ill probably watch the first few laps on the live timing (just to see whether its worth watching the race -no doubt both BARs will somehow collide in the first corner  )......

McChook
21-03-2004, 05:28 PM
Well, this sucks the big one..
Webber's race is done.
button 5th and Sato 11th after the first stops for each
Webber seconf last and a lap down after a flat tyre and a black flag for speeding in the pit lane...

VTEC16
21-03-2004, 05:33 PM
yeh....quite harsh!

LOOK AT SATOS LAP TIMES! HE IS CURRENTLY THE FASTEST ON THE GRID!!!!...despite being 11th and quite recently taking on a load of fuel!!!

EDIT: ok....he has slowed down now :x

McChook
21-03-2004, 05:34 PM

LUD02C

WOW, Jensen got 3rd?
Why don't we have a big fukin party for the wanker?

I am disappointed in the Jaguar car, I read on there webpage that Mark was having doubts about its ability for the start just before the race started... :x

I love the comments from Mark about Ralf...
"Maybe he was just pissed off that i passed him" pure gold :D

There was a few positives about this race:

1/ Watching Alonso at the beginning :D
2/ Michael Winning
3/ Montoya and Michael semi battle
4/ Sato's car blowing up!
5/ Dave Richards & Honda making a nice reliable fast car

I hope Kimi gets a more reliable car in the near future..
Also hope Qualifying changes!

P.S. If your wondering, I am not a fan on Jensen at all...
Also, i think 3 other drivers could of been in Sato's seat (but motorsport is about money)

McChook
22-03-2004, 02:22 PM
Honda are always keen on having a Japanese driver...

I also don't see how Michael winning is a positive. People are sick of it, and world telecast numbers are dropping. People are over him and Ferrari. He is now degrading the sport.

pornstar
22-03-2004, 03:56 PM
good on honda, apparently the move to just one chassis developer and spending more money on RnD has paid of for honda.

while i was watching the telecast, i noticed that the ferrari of schumachers engine reved to 18k rpms, phenominal as it may be, but when brought to buttons car, he was goig to 19.5k rpms. backed up byt what the commentators were saying.

Doe the BAR honda engines rev higher than the ferraris?

McChook
22-03-2004, 04:02 PM
The Honda mostly only revs to 18,300 or so, and 19 for spirts, but not long. The Renault revs about the same.

LUD02C
22-03-2004, 05:22 PM
People where sick of Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls when they were winning, people where sick of Mick tyson knocking everyone out and people where sick of Manchester United winning the FA cup all the time!

See the trend here?
If we are going to "stop" the successful people in a sport why become a success?

I'm sure Juan or Kimi would rather beat Michael then have FIA or another body get rid of him then either Juan or Kimi wins it...
How would they feel?

It's positive because it creates other teams to push harder and invest more into beating him...
So it creates INTEREST

You want an example?

Example: Mark Skaife keeps on winning and HRT is unstoppable, well last year Markose Ambrose defeats Skaife and look what is all over the news and what everyone is talking about...
Now it might have been "boring" when HRT and Skaife were winning but it created and allowed time for FORD to develop a better car and defeat HRT which gives them a better feeling...

You might not see my point, but Michael is now a house hold name, and that is good for the sport of Formula 1 why?
Because when on the news comes Juan has won the Worlds Drivers Championship people are going to wonder what happened and how Michael didn't win and then watch the F1 because of Michael not winning...

Well thats my opinion!

McChook
22-03-2004, 05:31 PM
in the same issue as skaife and HRT, is schumacher anf errari - too much money. That is thr main problem. Ferrari put everything behind one driver...

why do you hate J Button LUD02C??

I don't think he is that good as everyone proclaims him to be!!!
He mainly got his drive because he is British.
There are alot of better drivers out there, who don't get a chance!

But i could be wrong, and after his performance last night at Malaysia i have found some new respect for him!

So you think there should be a money cap?

McChook
22-03-2004, 06:19 PM
I dunno about a salary cap, but I think a good step would be one tyre manufacturer, 3 choices of tyre. that would make it a lot nicer. Bridgestone are only working with Ferrari, which is unfair to the other teams.

I personally would like to see an anti telemetry rule. The only contact between the team and the driver and his car shold be a radio. Obviously, this would be hard to govern.
Also like to see a gear stick. Even if it is a sequential stick. Ditch rear wings, and/or front wings, and reduce engine capacity to 2litres.

I also hope to see just one tyre manufacturer!!!
There are only 2-3 teams left with Bridgestone isn't there?
Soon it will be like WRC Pirreli only give Subaru tyres and the rest use Michelin's..
I read in F1 Mag, that Firestone want to make a come back into F1...

I also would like to see a gear shift back into F1, just like the Indy cars!
But if they are going to reduce aerodynamics i would want slicks to come back :D

While i agree that steps need to be made to even out the cars.... F1 is the pinnacle of motorsport....it would be a bit silly to get rid of the the aerodynamics! ......i think 2.5 litres would work a little better.... The fear of a single tire manufacturer is that the quality of tires will deteriorate....

There was a proposed testing cap (as apposed to salary cap)...but i dont think it would do much.....the teams would just invest their money eslewhere...

McChook
22-03-2004, 11:47 PM
Firestone is a subsidury of Bridgestone

I think they should ditch the areo dynamics. If it is the pinnacle of motorsport, amke the drivers work harder. and yeah, bring bac the slicks.

I say, 2.5 litre engines, no FI (turbos don't last long), and front engines. Mix it up.
