Hey there guys/gals

I was just wondering if any of you guys have ever used 95% octane on ur turbo hondas...

Ive used Vortex which is 95% (used it by accident =/ ) and it caused my car to stall and the engine light to turn on....the engine light goes off if i rev it hard and on boost...but if im under boost it just fuks up and stalls..

Was just wondering if anyone else has the same problem on their turbo hondas..

Cheers

Add an octane booster and see if it goes away maybe?

I dunno, im not really too knowledgable on the whole thing, but yeah, thats probably what COULD be done, I don't know if it would be of any help...

You should only use fuel that your car has been tuned on or higher.

If you car has been tuned to run on 98 octane or higher I would never put 95 RON fuel in. You are just asking for trouble. I would not be reving it hard like you are doing.

Have a look here on Fuel Terminology on RON:

http://www.eric-gorr.com/techarticles/fuel_terminology.htm

Quote:

Octane Number - A measure of the anti-knock characteristics of a given fuel. The octane number you see at the pumps is the average of two octane numbers; the Research Octane Number (RON) and the Motor Octane Number (MON). This number is sometimes referred to as the Anti Knock Index or AKI.
